Ambient was assigned by American Home Shield and did a terrible job. My AC stopped cooling in December. It took them 6 months to supposedly fix it. We found out in June that it was still not working, and eventually hired another company. They immediately diagnosed the issue and fixed it the next day. It was expensive to go outside of the warranty, but the knowledge and quality of the other company was immediately evident. Ambient tried a few different things to fix my AC over 6 months, none of them worked.

Each time they were ordering new parts with long delays. It seemed their work was more designed to maximize how much they could bill AHS as opposed to actually fixing my problem. I cancelled AHS and would not recommend Ambient if you want folks who know what they are doing.

I am in shock over the unprofessionalism I experienced from the rude assistant manager Jennifer. I have never been yelled at by someone who works at a company. RUN from this company. Their policies in place are terrible and do not support the clients they are supposed to be helping.

My experience with Ambient Air was positive all throughout every step. From scheduling and customer service, to our technician - everyone was professional, kind, helpful and thorough. Although we were placed with this company via our home owners insurance (which doesn't always work out), we would use them again if we needed help in the future.

Loved that they came out same day - only had to wait about 3 hours. Troy, the tech, was great. He explained everything and was very honest and informative. Only fixed what was needed - a capacitor. I think you can trust Ambient Air. My only disappointment is that they charged me $210 for a part that you can buy for $20 on Amazon - capacitors are cheap.

To be honest - I think any AC repair service called probably would have charged me the same. Through a little research I discovered that anyone with a decent digital hand-held multimeter can test a capacitor and they are super easy to replace (follow safety measures). Also, capacitors commonly fail, especially in AZ heat, so it's a good idea to keep a spare. Just make sure to match up all specs.

Ambient came out through my American Home Shield warranty. We had a freon leak and the tech immediately refilled the freon at a cost to me of $1,250 without bothering to investigate the cause of the leak. About 45 minutes later, with no diagnostic tools or tests, he determined the coil board or whatever it is in the attic would need to be replaced.

And after informing me that we would likely have to pay him upwards of $800 for the install because my warranty company would not cover all the expenses, he then told me I should dump AHS, go with Ambient and while I'm at it just replace my entire system at a cot of $10k. Meanwhile, 72 hours later, all that expensive freon has leaked out again and my AC is again not working. Who puts freon in a system before fixing the leak?

I really wish I could remember the name of the technician who came out to look at our A/C! We went through American Home Shield to get the A/C fixed. It was leaking and we lost a lot of coolant. Unfortunately, AHS only covers $10/lb of coolant and the type of coolant we were using cost $300/lb! The technician was able to explain ways to talk to AHS representatives to switch to synthetic coolant which saved us about $1,500. He definitely cared and was very helpful. They even came out in the rain to look at the attic unit.

Don't use these people. I have American Home Shield and they used this company. My compressor broke and no one has ever been in contact with me, its been almost two weeks. Unprofessional and they do not protect their customers against covid, no mask wearing. Horrible!

They contacted me right away and arrived the next day. Troy was absolutely up front and honest from the very beginning. I am a women and know nothing when it comes to my ac unit. Assigned via AHS home warranty. AC broke at 11pm, Ambience confirmed appt the next morning and was out at the house the following day. Call morning of to confirm they were on the way. They found the problem and replaced blower unit all within 2 and half hours. Couldnt ask for much better when whole state is 110 degrees.

Please turn off your AC and situate a fan in front of yourself for 2 hours. Multiple those two hours by 60 and that's how many hours my family and I have been sitting with a broken air conditioner. With no answers as to when we will get another servicer out here. Thank you Ambient Air

4-1/2 years ago Ambient installed a new Lennox AC system. Yesterday it quit and with the reviews here I hesitated to call them to service what they installed. I went forward anyway, called them at 7:30am and before 8:30am they were here. James was my expert technician and it became obvious quickly that he earned this title. He was very thorough and solved my problem and did a great job communicating and teaching. I would not hesitate giving Ambient your business!

Ambient Air was the contractor assigned by AHS. Rigo came out a couple of months ago to repair our HVAC system. He immediately suggested that the entire system be replaced. When I requested a price to repair the unit I received quotes, to repair the AC unit and to replace. Due to a misunderstanding on my part, I didnt realize until it was to late that the unit would be replaced.

A couple of weeks ago, during a home inspection, the unit was not operating. My wife contacted AHS and Rigo came to the house. He claimed the home inspector did not have any idea what he was talking about. My wife tried to explain to him that the unit also would not shut off, only removing power from the unit would stop the fan from running continuously.

He ridiculed her by claiming she didnt know how the unit worked: a chauvanistic comment. He then proceeded to try and upsell my wife on replacing the heating unit, ridiculing me to my wife that I was stupid for not having the entire unit replaced originally. When he realized she would not fall for his scam, he was cordial. My wife had to insist that she wanted the unit repaired.

When it was apparent he would have to repair the unit, he lingered about making numerous inapproprite advances towards my wife. My wife contacted the office about his inappropriate behavior. The office receptionist understood my wifes complaint and claimed she felt the she wouldnt appreciate it if it was directed towards her. NO ONE from Ambient Air contacted my wife about the situation. Ambient then sent Josh out to repair the switch problem and he was awesome.

He found other issues and immediately had the parts brought to him. He was very professional and courteous. It seems that Ambient sends their salesman out for the initial diagnosis intead of sending a service technician. Then when he is finished trying to upsell the customer, then another appointment is set up to actually fix the problem.

We purchased a home in March and had Ambient Air come out in May through our home warranty policy with American Home Shield because our mini-split was leaking. They repaired it with a zip tie and now, 5 months later, it is leaking again causing more damage to the frame of the door below. They only guarantee their work for 30 days and are willing to come out for a service fee of $85.

It is the exact same problem they repaired five months ago. In their defense, it has worked for five months. However, it is reasonable to believe that if it was repaired correctly, the repair should last more than five months. Or am I to believe that every five months a zip tie needs to be replaced at the cost of $85?

Never use this company, I had to use this company as that was who American home shield sent. The service tech was very nice but does not know hvac. It was sub par Service, then I called them last night which would have been a callback for the same problem. They never called me back so needless to say I took care of the problem myself. Good thing I am a maintenance technician and know electrical and hvac or I would have been with no ac until another company would have came. This company doesn't return calls or honor their work. Stay away from this company.

In May I used Ambient to take my AC apart and replace a fan motor. 90 days later I am selling the house, the home inspector cycled the furnace and it did not work. This was the very first time the furnace was tried after they had it apart. Instead of just sending a guy out to ensure some small detail wasnt missed, Ambient told me that because it was 90 days ago they would not back up their work. Apparently I was supposed to run my furnace in triple digits? They tried to set me up for a new service call-- NO Thanks! They do not back up their work!

Do not call this company. The person was rude, and no one called not call back after 3 hours requesting service. They seemed uninterested in helping my tenant with a gravely ill child sitting in a house with 100+ heat.

I had a horrible experience with Ambient air earlier this year. I started service with them on May 1st for an air conditioner and by May 30th 4 technicians had been out, each citing a different issues and I still didn't have cold air. I finally hired another company to come in and they quickly found that the compressor Ambient had installed was put in incorrectly and had caused the Freon to leak out and that's why my unit kept freezing up, makes much more sense then them telling my it was freezing because of a dirty filter, which was not even a month old.

I had to pay the new company to flush the system and redo the poor work of Ambient. I have contacted their office serval times to try and discuss this with the manager or owner and no one will respond back to me. This company won't even stand behind their own work or respond to questions which is pathetic

We had Ambient Air sent to us through our home warranty company. Not real pleased with our warranty company(AHS) and how they prioritize things, but that's another story.

James came out at the scheduled time, and wasted no time replacing the blower motor in our AC unit. We were very pleased with his professionalism and being able to get the job done quickly in a boiling hot attic!

He gave us a little "AC 101", tips on what we need to do to keep our AC functioning properly, when I have had other companies come out and not say much at all about what they came out for.

They said they couldn't locate the leak because it could be anywhere, but they would purposely over charge the refrigerant to try and evacuate the clog.

I specifically asked if that could cause any problems with the unit and he said no. An hour after they left, my condenser stopped working and I didn't have a number to get a hold of them because their office is closed on weekends. My house started heating up fast as it was over 100 degrees outside today. I got a different company out here and he said the reason why the condenser seized up was because of the over charge of refrigerant that caused the unit to overheat. I also found out they overcharged me for the refrigerant. We will not be using Ambient Air again. Hopefully you have a better experience than we did.

Rigo was great! He was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail and was able to fix our issue. I would've given it a 5 star review had it not been for the person who called to set up my appointment! He was NOT customer friendly and lacked basic phone etiquette by just hanging up. Not a very good first impression and it made me very skeptical as to how the technician and service would be. I am glad I had a great service experience.

I had another experience with this company and their poor customer service. I feel extremely disappointed with the downturn of their customer service. Frankly, the AC service was fine, but the customer service had been the biggest reason I supported this company. At this point, I've now had 2 terrible experiences over the past 12 mos. I think they need to emphasize their customer service training as soon as possible.

Ever have a great experience with a company a couple years back, recommend that company to a friend in need, and then be totally embarrassed by how terrible the customer service was? Terrible as in they were nasty: the tech told my friend that he deserves to earn more because he's union, he pitches a fit simply because she says she wants to do a little research on the service plan before purchasing it, and then the tech leaves trash at her house-kind of terrible. I'm so embarrassed and disappointed in how they behaved. I won't recommend them again.

I have used Ambient for a couple of years. They have always shown up on time and stay in good communication with me. I recently sold my home and needed to replace my "blower wheel". "Steve" was very thorough and quick, receptive to my questions and called me to let me know exactly what the problem was.

Came home at 11pm in the middle of July in Tucson with an excessive heat warning and a high of 111 degrees to find my house an oven and my air conditioner out. I have a home warranty through American Home Shield and called them immediately to make an appointment. AHS set up the appointment through Ambient, who was closed at the time, but sent all the information over.

I called Ambient immediately at 7am to get them over here as fast as possible as my AC going out is a serious emergency that has created an inhospitable and dangerous living situation. They told me they couldn't come out until the next day. When I told them again why that was unacceptable, they told me in a shockingly rude tone to somebody suffering from a serious issue from the heat: "We live here, we know out hot it is." They then told me nobody in town could come out today and that they would call me back.

They never called me back. I called another (major) Heating and Air Conditioner company in town who could come out within 3 hours. Nobody suffering an emergency should be spoken to like that, let alone not helped.

I I have no complaints. They were assigned to me through a home warranty service. They were able to get here within 24 hrs., they arrived perfectly on time. The technician got to work quickly and explained what was going on with the unit. Some switch was tripping because of the condensation. He got on the phone with my husband to also explained what was going on and answered all of our questions.

They didn't try to "sell" me anything, which a lot of providers do. Very quick and efficient service. I'm not too sure about the price because I only pay the service fee required by my warranty service.
