Ambler Coal Company has been serving clients since the early 1930s, when it was established by Daniel Signore. Originally a coal and masonry yard, the firm was 1st situated at Maple & Oak streets in Ambler. Coal was picked up daily and stored in the bins at the yard to be provided to the homes of local families. In the mid-1940s, heating oil replaced coal as a more popular automatic heat source.
