Assured Air In fall of 1993 Assured Air, Ltd. was opened in downtown La Grange near the intersection of Hillgrove and Brainard. The original crew was Ted DeCarlo and Traci DeBartolo (who a year later married Ted in 1994). The shop was opened in La Grange which was the home of Ted's wife Traci, her family resided there for over 25 years.

Ted graduated from Coyne American Institute for HVACR in 1987, then attended Triton College and came from a family of entrepreneurs. He worked for previous companies that focused on refrigeration, high velocity air conditioning systems, boilers, light commercial units and regular residential HVAC systems.

Bought a new condenser. Fair price. Were able to come out the day following my call. Only feedback I'd have is to communicate if they were to run late or what time to expect them for installation. Getting a call that they're there only because we discussed a specific day but not a time may not work out if someone's employer isn't flexible. I'd call them for service next year.

Half of the heat in my house went out during 40 degree temperatures this week and when I called, they were so nice and able to get someone out that same day. Initially the service man thought we'd need to replace the boiler, which was not what I wanted to hear, but whatever, it's cold outside and I just wanted heat! When Matt and Vince came to replace the boiler, they noticed my hesitancy and offered to have their supervisor review the system one more time just to get another opinion. Rich, the supervisor, said I could go either way, but it actually was repairable and they could fix it up where I could get another 3 to 5 years out of the boiler.

He could not have been more patient explaining everything and gave me great guidance. Everyone I have spoken and met with from there has been so incredibly lovely and helpful, it made what initially felt like a really stressful experience, much, much easier. I plan on using them for all my heating and cooling needs from now on, I can't thank them enough.

These good folks offer fantastic HVAC service. I used them on 3 separate occasions: A new furnace installation, new central AC replacement, and finally a new mini split solution to fully address comfort for the upstairs section of my home. These pros never disappoint! They provide honest and competitive quotes, show up on time, and are diligent with every aspect of their work effort. Don't hesitate to give them a try. I am improving my last review since the owner called to apologize for not fixing the problem over the weekend that I requested assistance. He has retrained his staff to provide the kind of service that folks expect from a family-owned business like Assured Air. My review is specific to one bad experience, but overall they are dependable and trustworthy. Assured Air will treat you fairly.

I purchased a ac/heating unit from them and had problems with heating unit not even a year old. And have had nothing but trouble with them.then a tech came out and said we're done with you even thou I have a one year warranty on it.the owner won't even reach out when you ask to talk to him.well I do not recommend this place to anyone.and if you want to chance it go ahead. I thought they were better then that my mistake!

Assured Aire came out 2 weeks ago to fix our whole house humidifier. They were prompt, professional and fixed the wiring on the humidifier. Very pleased and would certainly use them again. Don't forget to always tip your service technicians!

12/7/2021 update: the owner Ted did replace the broken pot with an apology. I like locally owned businesses so I will give them consideration in the future. Therefore I am changing the rating from 1 start to 3 stars. I am looking forward to interacting with them moving forward and having a positive experience so I can change this to a 5 star rating! Assured Air has been a disappointment from the beginning.

In 2019 I paid for an air-conditioning install. In a nutshell once they had my money they couldn't prioritize getting the work done. In 2021 this system is leaking and since it is a new system I thought I should try them again. They came out for service and said everything is fine. Said my air filter may have been too dirty. In 11 years have used the same type of filter and change it every 3 months without issue. Additionally they broke my pots (picking one up and dropping it on the other) they admitted they did it and said it wasn't their responsibility. So they charged me over 100 for the service call, broke stuff and left. in 2019 they were an issue and today they are still.

Assured Air installed a split system with 2 heads for 2 different rooms. We felt like we got good value for the work performed. They were professional, kind, and they cleaned up after themselves. It was a 2 day install and we have been very satisfied with our purchase. They even help with the efficiency rebate! Service: Ductless heating & A/C services

Ted and his guys were prompt in coming out to give me a quote for a new furnace and air conditioner, talked through the options and took time to answer my questions. The quote was reasonable and they offered to recondition some stuff like the condensation pump and humidifier rather than trying to upsell me on all new equipment. Helped get my existing AC back up and running to keep the house cool until the new AC and furnace were installed. Completed the work in one day and it's been working nicely for the past 6 weeks.

Assured Air Ltd installed both a boiler and a SpacePak A/C unit this summer in our 106-year-old house. They were professional, honest, and responsible. At the onset, we got a detailed estimate and schedule. They patiently answered all our questions. The work was completed in the time frame they outlined at the beginning. It was clear that the installation team was very knowledgeable about their products.

They explained to us how to use and take care of the equipment. Having A/C has been wonderful, and the unit works extremely well. We had a small glitch with the boiler the first time we turned on the heat, but Ted (the owner) sent out a service person immediately and all was well. We are very happy with the units and with Assured Air!

Very poor recent experience. Purchased a new furnace with installation last fall. Installation crew seemed preoccupied and distracted throughout the job. Issues came this summer with extreme condensation on the ducts coming from the furnace. I called Assured Air for service and spoke with someone who promised a call back within two days, but they did not call.

I tried again, but still no call from or appointment set with a technician. I called a trusted competitor and they came out the next day and identified the cause of the condensation - the low voltage wiring was not connected properly during the furnace installation so the fan was not working properly. I called Assured Air to inform them that I no longer needed service and explained the entire situation.

The gentleman I spoke with did not seem to mind that I experienced issues, but took notes and said that he would investigate and get back to me. He did not call back. Ted is a nice guy and trusted referrals have had good experiences with Assured Air, which gets this to a 2-star. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend after my experience.

Ted and team and Assured Air are awesome. After getting multiple bids for a SpacePak central AC system for our home we decided to move forward with Assured Air, and we couldn't be happier with our choice-it well worth the investment. Unlike larger companies that you never hear from again after they get your $$$, Assured are extremely reliable and happy to answer your questions anytime. I've had a few questions about our new AC system since installation and Ted has been extremely responsive answering my emails within minutes.

Got called back finally and they installed my unit and installed a couple of vents needed. First review is the reason why rating isn't higher. 2 years later and unit works great.

Ted's crew has added Space Pak's to half the houses on our Beverly block and everyone raves about him. His crew is in the process of working on our home and so far they've been polite and considerate, keeping me updated throughout the process.

The folks at Assured Air were spectacular from start to finish. I hired them to replace and install my 17+ year old Furnace and AC unit. They were extremely prompt, tidy, and courteous during the installation. I am very pleased with thier service, too. Prior to the replacements, Assured Air was responsive and quick to resolve my heating and cooling issues. I would highly recommend them!

While this company was very good in the past. Lately they have been very rude and abrupt with their customer service. One week ago assured came out to find out why our heater was not working. They came out as scheduled and stated that out main board needed replaced. The technician said the part needed to be ordered which was fine and they would contact when it was in.

On Saturday the 10th of October they called and asked if they could come out that day since they had the part to install it. When I said I would not be able to have them out on Saturday but could set it up for Tuesday they said that was fine. I called them in Monday the 12th to confirm they said let me call you back. When they called back they said that the part did not arrive.

When I said okay, even though this did not make sense since they said they had it Saturday! I asked when it should be in she said a couple of days. I said okay let's set it up for Friday, since it will be cold she said we can't do that. When I called back to cancel everything and said you can at least say you don't want to service us so we may look for another agency. She said no worries and hung up! This is not what I expected from accompany who had always been good! Very sad!

Turned AC on for first time and found it was not cooling properly. Called for service on Tuesday but was told I would have to wait until Friday for response. Asked to talk to Ted ( owner) who diagnosed issue on phone based on my description. Offered to send someone at end of day (Tuesday) to service. Rick showed up at 5 as promised and immediately identified a leaking valve.

He replaced the valve and recharged the system, was up and running shortly thereafter. Thanks to Ted for offering the end of day service call and for sending Rick who knew what the issue was. Only charged for valve and recharge, not the service call which was appreciated. Renewed my confidence in this company with whom I have done business for years.

Hello, our neighbor bragged to us how good this company was so she gave me a coupon since she had just had them install a new unit last july of 2019 or somewhere close! So the first time Justin came out and said all fixed you needed a new censor the bill wals $179.74 that was on 1/13/20! Then on 4/24/20 Rich the manager from Lyons come out and said we have a plugged T-Trap and the bill was $94.02!

So today on 5/6/20 i had to call again and tell the office the were having the same problem! I informed her i was not going to pay a service charge she had me hold on and said you will have to pay $32.50 for the time spent! This is ridiculous, our unit is new it was installed by Sears in August of 2013! If they cannot fix the problem after today i am going to call the BBB on them and tell people whatever you do! DO NOT DO Business with them!

I would love to rate this company a 5 star. At the beginning of my dealing with them I would have. I had to have my air/heating unit replaced as it was more than 30 years old. My unit is not even 2 years old, and so far someone has had to come back out 4 times for problems. Four times in a year and a half for a brand new unit. I am waiting again today for someone to come this afternoon, despite being told he would come first thing this morning since I spent the weekend with this problem.

I did not have this many problems with my 30 year old unit until the day it died, as I am having with this less than 2 year old unit. I am told it is fixed and 2 weeks later I have to call back again and take more time off work. Originally I was so happy with Assured that I recommended them to my good friend. But as time goes on I have become more than frustrated. I never write reviews so this is saying something.

Ted and his team did an outstanding job with the replacement of my 23 year old A/C system. I needed an entirely new Air Handler, Spacepak. After reviewing several bids, I chose Assured Air. I'm glad I did! Ted made unique recommendations for the thermostat, attic fan and positioning of ducts. The A/C in my 1921 Bungalow is much more efficient and evenly dispersed than it was before. They were prompt, professional and clean! I'm so glad to have found Assured Air!

I once again have to recommend this business! We chose to go with Assured Air for our HVAC replacement. We compared their quote with two other local companies with high ratings. Ted's quote was right on point with others, they won out based on their financing options, our previous experience, and price. We were willing to pay a few dollars more than the lower bid submitted by their competitor.overall it was money well spent.

The install crew that came was amazing! They took their time with the little things, such as booties on their shoes, and drop cloths. I have experienced or heard of other companies who come in, make a mess, and leave a mess. Not with Assured! Their install time was fast and efficient without being careless. The quality of the install work was spot on.

They sealed joints in the ductwork, routed and secured all piping in a clean manner, and worked with us on overall unit placement to ensure future maintenance would go easier. Extra time was taken to ensure that the freon gas in the system was properly topped off. No dump and run, hoping that the gas levels are correct. I have to finish off with the product they sell.

I spent much time researching different brands and we chose American Standard. This outdoor AC condensing unit has to be one of the quietest fans that I have experienced. Standing next to it while running we are able to have a normal level conversation and barely heard the unit.

REVIEW UPDATE: About 30 minutes after posting my orginal review, the owner himself called me to make things right. Ted, the owner, pulled a man off a job to make my original appointment time. He was very apologetic on what happened with the office staff and his call went a long way with me. Ted said he sent his "best guy" (Rick) who was very ice and efficient and had my air up and running in no time.

I recommend Assured Air! I can't rate the service because the office is unable to keep an appointment. I had an appointment schedule for Wednesday 6/20 and they called me on Monday 6/18 and said they were backed up on emergencies and asked me if I could do Friday 6/22 at 11:30am instead. I took off work to be home for the appointment and I just called the office to confirm the time.

They had no record of my appointment and made NO effort into correcting the situation. I used Assured Air at my old home and it is unfortunate to see that the service is not the same as it once was. I am forced to give my business (and my money) to another company who can actually keep appointments and not inconvenience their repeat customers.

Assured Air is who I have called to help maintain and troubleshoot our aging Space Pak air conditioning systems. They are informative and straightforward, and have given me tips about what I can do myself. I schedule servicing early each spring to prevent having to call in crisis on a 95 degree day! An ounce of prevention.

I recently purchased a condo in Chicago which had been previously serviced by Assured Air (before I purchased the place). During closing, I had open questions on the HVAC unit which the seller wasn't able to address, so I called the company on the invoice. Assured Air was very responsive and even offered to come back on-site and meet my agent to clarify my concerns on the unit -- free of charge!

In particular, Danielle, was a stand-out help! Her customer service went above and beyond to communicate real-time updates and made me feel at ease her team would take care of things. Thank you!

Horrible experience with the owner and office personal. The owner decided it was more convenient for him to change my appt without confirming it with me. I had taken the afternoon off for a 1:30 service appt. it was more convenient for the owner to send the tech an hour earlier. Obviously I wasn't there. This man would would not apologize for the inconvenience, his explanation was me had left me a message that I did not get.

The furnace did get serviced but 3 hours after the agreed time. Ted has no idea of what customer service is. In fact, he told me customer service is not his goal. On a side note, the service tech was great. I live in a condo and have passed this onto my board and fellow neighbors. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
