I contacted Beard Marine to have some repair work done on our boat's two air conditioning units. John was the technician assiged to come to our boat. He was outstanding to work with, communicated extraordinarily well. He called to tell us he was headed to the boat, and as we were not there spent a lot of time listening to the description of the issues we were having with the boat.

He would call to tell us when he was going to the boat and when he was leaving. While there he would call to discuss what he found and what service he recommended. Extremely friendly and courteous, we could not have asked for better service. We very much appreciate how well he treated us.

Typical South Georgia "county-line" liquor store. Owner doesn't understand English well. It works.

I am posting this to express how disappointed and disgusted I am with your company and the service that came recommended. After I called your service department to schedule service of my refrigeration on a Monday, I was sent the credit card authorization form to complete and return. During the call I explained that I was leaving Lauderdale Marine Center on the Sunday and wanted to get the AC topped up and an explanation of how to un-pickle the watermaker that you pickled for the previous owner.

I returned the form to your office on the Tuesday morning and subsequently contacted Your service coordinator to arrange service and was advised that Thursday morning would be arranged. I again informed him I was the new owner and what we needed and that we were leaving on the Sunday for the Florida Keys. I was called at 0805 Wednesday and a voicemail was left indicating a cancellation had come up and to call.

I called at 0900 and was advised that the technician had been sent elsewhere and that Thursday was still good. Thursday morning arrives and by 0900, no technician and no call to advise when the technician would arrive. I called the service coordinator again and was advised he would try and get a technician to me. Thursday afternoon arrives and nothing.

I called him again and was told maybe Friday or Monday. I again explained to him that we were leaving on Sunday. He reiterated he would get a technician on Friday. Friday morning, no call, no technician. I again called your office and was told he was in a meeting. I left a voicemail and emailed Your service coordinator. By 1145 I had heard nothing from Your service coordinator so I called him again.

All I got this time were excuses about how busy you were and that one of your other technicians had done something on a boat he wasn't supposed to and that was being rectified. I was again told he would try and get a technician to me in the afternoon. By 1600 I had heard nothing. I again called and was told the technician who was just finishing a job was on his way to me.

At 1645 my broker called me (he was the person who recommended your company) and I related my frustration to him. He came into your office and was told that The technician was on his way and would be here about 1715. Well, here we are at 1853 and guess what, no sign of Beard Marine. If your company was too busy or unable to provide the simple service that I needed, then You should have said so right up front and that way I would have the chance to find another company who could have helped.

As it is, I am now out of time and shall have to find someone else down the island chain on my way to the Caribbean. I shall not be recommending your company to anyone that I meet, rather I shall be telling them that you cannot provide a service that you advertise and continually waste potential customers time. I have told my broker and the sellers broker, (who both recommended you) and am advised that they will also not be recommending you to any of their clients any more. Sincerely Captain Nigel Peters SV "Calliope" (to be renamed Osprey)
