Can’t speak to value, we use this company and have been very pleased, don’t have a quote from others but seem on target. Don and Adam were very knowledgeable, willing to take time for any questions I had, offered updates and info on the fly. Addressed any issues found in a timely, professional manner. I would like to formally and sincerely express my gratitude for the amazing workmanship and professionalism shown by your technicians. Kevin and William were amazing and took such great care in installing both Carrier 16 Seer Performance Series D/S, Gas Furnace/Air Handler, Compressors and thermostats with both system being located in attic spaces. Berkeley Heating and Air has been our servicing company for over 15 years, I highly recommend this company for installations/upgrades, repairs and servicing.

After 5 years of being jerked around by this company, I am done. I have given them every opportunity to make things right, only to ultimately be ignored. 5 years ago they installed a new system into the condo I moved in to. Ever since then, it has been one repair after another, amounting in thousands of dollars, on a brand new system and it still isn't fixed.

I even payed for preventative maintenance every year. Over the years I had told them that something bigger seems to be the issue and to look into it further and stop fixing things on the 'surface', and finally I get my answer. I find out, that upon installation, they neglected to change the refrigerant line to the larger size the new HVAC needed, and this lead to my compressor failing in the first 2 years, among other serious issues I've been dealing with.

When Berkeley finally realized this, it was turned back over to the sales man Alan Risher who I was told would be in contact with me about what the company would plan to do, and after 3 attempts to reach out to him over weeks and getting absolutely no response, I think it's pretty clear now what the company plans to do to rectify this situation - and that is nothing. Editing now that my review has gotten a response from the company: while I appreciate the message, I already made plenty of calls to the office before leaving this review and 'had messages left for the manager' to still never have my calls returned. If this company actually cares about making this right, they have already have my name and my contact info.

Donald and Adam came out to the exact right address, at the exact right time, did the exact right work, in a reasonable amount of time, with a balance of professional and personal interaction. Did a beautiful job of removing and replacing two AC/ Heating systems. Kevin and William did a real clean job. They put coverings on the rugs so they wouldn't get dirty from removing older dirty units. They leveled the outside units perfectly- I've seen other companies work and you can tell from a distance the workers didn't care about the end product. I would gladly recommend using Berkley for any of their heating/ air conditioning repairs or upgrades. The new units are so quiet! Job well done

Berkeley Heating and Air installed an upstairs system in my home. They were so efficient and professional and went about their work as if my house was theirs. They were punctual & remained busy throughout the day while at the office. They kept me informed of the progress on the project & there were no surprises. Berkeley Heating & Air Conditioning has been wonderful to work with! We have been having a lot of issues with our furnace going out in the last few weeks and they have been on top of getting techs out here and a salesman. I was leery about dealing with another salesman after the last company we got a quote from but Andrew was great! He wasn't pushy at all and went over a few options with me(and my boyfriend when I FaceTimed him so Andrew could go over everything with him too).

I didn't want to go with the cheapest option but wanted something affordable. We were pleasantly surprised with the quote since we were expecting the quote to be double the cost. Andrew is not your typical salesman and I was highly impressed with him. So far my experienced with Berkeley and Andrew have been wonderful.

Is it possible to give negative stars? Berkeley HVAC, A whole lot of talk and no delivery. Salesman Andrew, musy be related as he is beyond rude. Avoid poor cust service. heavy billing and average installation.

This company claims to have after hours service but they do not. Don't bother calling them if you have an urgent need on a weekend.

Very disappointed in Service. I recently had BHA perform annually maint on my two hvac units, One they installed a year or two or so ago and another installed by another firm a few years prior whilst I was in asfganaatan. Borh Carrier. For the initial installation They did an excellent job even though there was a problem that required them to finally reach out to Carrier many months and several attempts, they got it done.

I was basically happy. So they showed up to perform summer maint and also address a service call on one unit that had stopped working and the thermostat was also broken. Again, tbough they did a poor job at scheduling apt, I trusted them to go to my house, gave them code to get in, gave office payment card in advance as again was called overseas. Trust alocal firm.right?

So tech called me, saying he had done the PM on both units and also did alot of work to repair broken unit, but did not have thermostat, good news it was under warranty and he would come back tomorrow. So in addition to the $200 or so dollars for the annual PM plan, I shelled out another couple of hundred for the repairs. So what its working, they took care of business and worked with me to do whilst I overseas Oh they also incorrectly charged me, but did correct.naturally I had to find a phone and call to get corrected, teck blamed ofgice and vica versa.

Again Keep in mind I'm some 15000 mikes away from home. Trusting the local carrier ke3ader. They returned the next day as promised! and installed the warrenty thermostat, but charged another $250 to install this "free" thermostat, stating because they didn't have it in truck the 1st time, enen though they were told tstat had problem " its a flat rate charge" So what could I do, they charged the card on file and told me to call office.

So you think for $500 service and another 2-300in PM the unit was working? Not. But more on this in a moment. I did call the office asking for explanation of why I was charged 250 for warrenty o3ary they forgot. The first k3ady in office said she could not help me, but would have the service manager call. After 2 weeks, I got to phone, still overseas you see and called to speak with this mysterious servicemanager.

Now this absentee service lead was in training. Suppose thatsa 2 week excuse for blowing a customer off. However, this time another office lady tried to explain with the the flat rate charge story and this invisable service manager would call. He did not. Fast forward another month or so. I finally get back to American. Only to find the unit I shelled out almost 700 to fix.not working.

So July 4th in Charkeston 95 degrees and no air. Sucked it up, not wanting to be handled by some poor answered service rep telling me how its a holiday. So I will hope they are working normal schedule tomorrow the 6th and come back and actually do what they wete oaid and said they did.theforst two times. Very disappointed as original install was fantastic, the after care and incorrect billing well guess they figured because Im deployed fir givt work I wouldnt be around to follow up.

Berkeley did an outstanding job installing my Carrier Gas Pack. They did it quickly and got it right the first time. I also have them do performances checks regularly on my system. Well worth the price.

The owner of this company is unethical. He posted a piece of equipment for sale on a local website. I responded indicating interest. He replied asking if I was coming today to pick it up - otherwise he had other offers. I responded twice that I would be there today. No response from owner. When I showed up to pick up the equipment, he had already sold it to someone else. Take your business elsewhere. Don't take a chance on Gordon.

Wonderful company! They were on time and very professional. Took great care to see that they didn't make a mess in the house while doing the repair and the technician actually wore booties to protect our floors. Their price for the repair was very reasonable as well. I won't be using anyone else from now on.

Helped a friend by being at their place to meet Berkeley tech. The service call was to be the first stop of the day and the tech was to be there between 8 & 9 am. They give themselves a full hour window for the very first service visit of the day, yet when the tech didn't arrive by 9:10, I called the office. The receptionist asked I stay on the phone while she called the tech.

She came back on the line and said he was "stuck in traffic" and would be there in 20 minutes. I moaned and said "30 minutes late for the first call of the day when you already give yourselves and hour of pad time is lousy customer service. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and she wasn't joking. Yes sure, I've waited an hour and 15 minutes for you already and since the A/C isn't working, I'm sure it makes sense to have the A/C to be out for another day when it's 90 degrees and have someone wait another 1 plus for you to arrive.well I refrained from saying this and simply reiterated that 30 minutes beyond the hour window they already had and then blame it on traffic wasn't acceptable.

Well the guy finally showed up at 9:45, and although he was friendly and readily answered my questions, never did he offer an apology for being so late. So, if you're not in a hurry and like dealing with support staff who don't have a "customer-first" orientation, go ahead and call Berkeley. Otherwise call someone else.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. This is the most incompetent heating and air company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The customer service or rather lack thereof is pitiful. This company replaced 2 units winter of 2010 and since installation have been out 8 times to repair. We have had the joy of electricity bills over $550/month due to the units not working properly. When we contacted the company to discuss this with the manager he basically said "too bad". I wouldn't recommend this awful company to my worst enemy.

This company sucks. Gordon the owner sucks. I bought a brand new TRANE indoor and outdoor air conditioning/ heat pump unit for my home summer of 2008. Summer of 2010 it already broke because this company did not replace the copper piping, and reused a too small liquid line which cause the compressor to overwork and break in 2 years instead of lasting the 10 that the warranty implies it should last. (this is the opinion of 2 different heating and air companies.) When I contacted the company, they were rude and unhelpful.

I thought that talking to the owner would help and he was more rude than the people he employed and expected me to pay him just to come out to diagnose the problem, as well as pay for the problem his company caused to be fixed. TRANE was also unhelpful and backed this company but did honor the 10 year warranty for the compressor, however I still had to pay labor and parts for the copper piping.

I was without air in 90+ degree weather for 15 days while I was 5 months pregnant and I hope everyone in lower SC reads this and goes with a different company for their heating and air needs. Bottom line, they suck.
