Disappointed. I used them a few years ago for a repair and they seemed honest, that's why I kept the number. This year, my ac stopped working and they sent out a guy who replaced the capacitor (sp?) and said it wasn't that. He said he'd have to replace the board to find out if it was actually the blower because he didn't think it was the board.

He said we were already talking about nearly 4000 grand, so I should consider a new system. Craig came out to give me an estimate - between 19 and 29 thousand dollars with new duct work. I shopped around to find that was a higher price. But beyond that - the other company who came out spent about 20 minutes to look at the system and immediately found it was the board.

The tech brought it down and showed me the clearly burned out whatsits on the board - CLEARLY BURNED OUT! He fixed the ac unit for 650 and said a new one comparable to their 22 thousand unit would cost me 12 grand from his company. Seriously, guys? So completely disappointed in the company.

Have used this company for years. All 4 family homes had routine service each year and they installed an a/c unit in one. I was very happy with the office staff and field personnel. Seemed like they had the same employees which makes me feel like they a good company. Couple of years ago I noticed a change. office seemed the same but instead of techs coming out to look at a job and give you a price.

I was put through to a sales person who asked questions as far as what I was needing. I rec'd a email with a contract attached that I needed to sign before they'd come out. I assumed (not smart) that was a approx price and I asked them to do the job. They arrived spent 60 mins 2 people very little $ in supplies charging the $1,600. I contacted the office left messages stating what I have here. they deducted $100 still a total rip off.

And they did not solve my problem. They were to order a part to complete the job, an expensive part. I rec'd no call or message saying part was in. Called asking about the part twice finally I got a call back saying the part was no longer available. come on. crappy customer service. which they were very good in my option in the past. seems they jumped the shark. Hired people to send out bids, people sign thinking it's business as usual except thats your price you have to pay. doesn't matter if it's a rip off price. you gotta pay it.

In addition I hired them to service my unit earlier 2021 and wrote another big check now I'm wondering if I wasn't upsold. on that as well. I just hired a great A/C repair person who spent over an hour to fix what they said I needed fixing including the part I paid $190. so long Canoga Park A/C and heating. I will no longer be calling you.

Since day 1, I have had a great experience with Canoga Park Heating & Air Conditioning. When I first bought my home, the AC went shot in a couple months. CPHAC came in and presented me with a lot of options and they installed a brand new AC unit for my condo. It worked great! Their staff calls me every so often to schedule maintenance and they are always on top of it.

My AC was not cooling this morning (LA Summer) and I panicked. I set up an appointment online and they called me immediately. They were able to get a tech out within a couple hours and the tech was on time, kept me updated, presented me with options, and did a great job! I am so happy I pursued CPHAC for their work! Highly recommend! Thanks Kevin!

I called this company on a Saturday. They informed they had no spots available due to a small heat wave we were experiencing. Of course I, like many others, experienced my ac failing during the middle of it so I understood their position. They offered the next earliest available appointment on Monday and added me to an emergency wait list. I never believe in a "wait list" so I wasn't very hopeful.

I started to call other companies but I got the same response. To my surprise Canoga Air called me back and came same day to the rescue. They got me cold air again "hooray!". The technician informed me of all other issues that should be taken care of in the future. I knew my system was old so I asked for an estimate on a new system. A gentleman then came by and gave us different options on new systems for different efficiency levels.

He clearly explained the benefits of each and guided my husband and I to the best one that fit our needs. It wasn't a cheap option but we decided to try and save some energy in the long term and chose the most efficient option. It's been a week now and I am beyond happy with our choice to both hire Canoga air and install the high efficient system. The system is super quiet and comfortable. I would recommend Canoga Air to a family and friends.

Kevin was thorough, efficient, courteous and not afraid to do the work involved to properly diagnose the real issue. He cleaned the clogged coil and the dirt and lint clogging the outside unit. All this was after the company (whom I will not name but never use again!) that provides regular maintenance on my system told me there was nothing they could do and I need to install a brand new system ($12000!). Two thumbs up for Canoga Park HVAC!

Up-sell was my experience today. I just wanted seasonal maintenance and was offered three choices of monthly plans; bronze, silver and gold. All approaching the price point of a home warranty (that would include what their product would provide). The tech checked my refrigerant level and stated that the were low and it would cost me $400.00/oz. He stated that my capacitors were old.

I replaced them, myself, last year and used a sharpy maker to date the install (with my initials). I asked if the evaporator coil needed to be cleaned. The tech stated, "Oh man, I've never seen one this bad before." He went over my options, each progressively more expensive than the next. I eagerly declined and merely paid for the "maintenance." I went to Lowes and purchased coil cleaner. Went into the attic and accessed the coil, did it my self for 8 dollars, not the 400.00+ he asked for.

I turned the unit on to check my work, it is running like a clock. I am getting older and am doing less labor, but will not be taken advantage of either. I cannot say that my experience here was a good one and would not call CP Heating and Air.

A little over a year ago I had a mini-split system installed into the family home that has been ours since the late 40's. After a year of ownership I can confidently say that our home has never been more comfortable year-round. The units provide cooling and heating, allow for independent room control, and are so quiet that my wall clock is louder.

Today I had my first service checkup, and Kevin (my service tech) was not only on time, but very informative, took the time to make sure I understood the answers to my questions, and helped educate me on details of the system, making me a better owner. I can't say I have had many better experiences, so I can recommend them whole heartedly for both sales and follow up service needs.

Miguel was my technician. He was excellent in every way. He alerted me to what could have become a huge problem with the air conditioning unit. Extremely professional & explained everything in detail for me. He couldn't have given us any better service. I give him an A++! Thank you Miguel. Service: A/C system maintenance

This business has been in the valley forever! We have used them a couple of times and they are professional, respectful and thorough. We used a 'tune-up' coupon and they switched out some filters for us and checked all our AC parts. They take pix of everything so you can see exactly what they are talking about and then offer a variety of programs & payment plans. Love that they send a pic of their tech before the come so you know exactly who to expect. Shout out to Kevin & Nathan for a great job:

I called because I have a clog somewhere between the drip pan and the drainage hose in my unit, and specifically said that's why I needed service. The "technician" did the basic cleaning ( a service I DID NOT request ) and did not fix the clog, gave some malarkey about how he cant fix it and offered no follow up or resolution. They charged me for the work they did ( again work that wasn't requested ).

Not even a day later there's water dropping because the clog is back. They said this was a reoccurring issue and required daily maintenance however in 5 years the only time we had any issue like this was in 100+ degree summer weather and even then the leak was minimal in comparison. I called to let them know the job they did didn't work and they needed to come fix it as it was leaking water worse than when I made the appointment. and EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE I have to wait almost a week for them to send a "second opinion" They are already more expensive then local competition, but this ignorance and lack of service in top of that is inexcusable.

Our technician, Greg, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He found the issue and addressed it properly. I found Canoga Park far more thorough than other HVAC companies I've dealt with. They seem genuinely reliable and not out to upsell you on everything. Services: Repair HVAC, Ductless heating & A/C services, HVAC system maintenance

I appreciate the way I get a text with a photo of the technician coming to my house - no surprises and respect for my safety! This is the second time I have relied on Canoga Park Heating and AC to come repair my heater and both times they have been on time, nice, friendly, quick and neat on the job, and efficient. They also explain the costs and are reasonable in their charges. I hope to not need to them but I am super glad I can count on them when I do.

Kevin was very professional and personable at the same time. He checked the AC system, it's quite old. He then said it was operating fine and we should get a couple more years of service. He then checked out the furnace and said it too was operating fine. I was glad to see, as some other companies do, that he didn't find some bogus part or seal to replace for hundreds of dollars. I am going to continue doing business with CP Heating and AC.

My father always believed in finding and supporting the best local businesses. Our family has used Canoga Park Heating & Air Conditioning since 1993 and we'll continue to do so. The staff are always nice and professional. Their repair and installation crews are always conscientious about safety and keeping things clean and tidy. What I like most is how well they communicate and stay in touch with me through their email and text message systems.

Jose, the technician, came out the day after the appointment was made and had my AC up and running again in a jiffy with parts on hand. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I am a little disappointed the Carrier AC needed a repair just 3 1/2 years after install, but that is an issue with Carrier. Service: Repair AC

I had my A/C installed by someone else. After less than two months the unit was short cycling and the guy that installed it wouldn't come to check the unit that he installed. I decided not to waste time since it was the middle of Summer so I called Canoga Park. Johnny came out and found the problem immediately. The system was overcharged. He fixed the issue, tested it and I was only charged the service charge. Excellent service! Thanks Johnny! Pros: Great service, reasonable service charge, fast efficient service. Cons: Non

Our A/C stopped working over the weekend and we waited on another company through a series of 105+ days. We gave up on hearing back from the previous company and called CPHAC this morning. As friendly as could be, they set up an appointment between 11-2 and Jose was here around 1. In this blazing heat, he hopped up onto the roof and diagnosed the problem rapidly.

He explained in full detail that we have an older unit (20+ years) and that these repairs would work but something else could break. We know that a new system is $7-12K and were willing to take the gamble. He replaced three major parts (and even had to run to a supplier to get a fan when our old one would not come apart) and we are sitting here now in a cooling home!

My last comment has to do with reviews of people complaining about being late. These poor guys get to step into situations and punt. What brand, how old, can we get parts, etc. We know that by Jose spending 3 hours at our house that it threw off other appointments and maybe others are going to be delayed in getting their systems back on. The choice with any company is to spend two trips (diagnose then repair) or try and get it done and move on.

We appreciated what he did for us and if he had to come back instead, that would have been ok too (but uncomfortable). Tough business but they handle everything, from appointments to service to billing, quite well!

In 2020, My AC was not cooling down. I had one company to come to check. They said the freon was leaking and they added $500 of Freon to it. After few weeks the AC was not cooling down again, that's what I found another company which is canoga park heating to check. They said the compressor was not good. I had paid $4000 to change the new one.

That was in October 2020. We didn't really use much because the summer was already gone. This year the summer time comes and we started to use the AC and The same issue happened. I asked them to come over to check. They are telling me my evaporator coil needs to be replaced. I was very shocked by the price they gave me. It was $4200 to replace it. I really felt like I was ripped off. $4000 + $4200 that is ridiculous. Later on they are gonna tell you need to fix this and that and it will never ends.

I have an extremely old unit. Jose explained everything that could be done to increase the lifespan and was very honest and knowledgeable. He was able to keep the price within my budget. I can already feel the difference in temperature. He also explained that if I feel that the unit is failing, that the DWP has an incentive and rebates to replace it. He took his time and explained again anything I didn't understand. I would absolutely use this business again and recommend them to family and friends

Johnny, is INCREDIBLE! After 5 months going through 4 other companies, Johnny came in and saved the day. We had a handful of companies come in, find no issue, and say they have no idea why things weren't working. Johnny came in, friendly as can be, and gave us a hypothesis on the problem. Fast forward a couple weeks for the parts to come in, Johnny came back (on the weekend, mind you), installed all the pretty new pieces, and got the cool air going.

He also gave use a run down on the new components and what to expect in the future. We couldn't be more grateful for Canoga Air and Johnny. Excuse us, while we go cry with relief in our ice-box of a home. Thanks guys!

Jose Ramirez did a good job! He is very professional, clean & respectful. He checked all my vents, air fan in the attic & refrigerants & gave me some pointers. He vacuummed the wooden floor after he removed the ladder w/him. Also, he wore his PPE before entering my house. I commend him for a job well done. An asset to Canoga Park A/C. Thank you!

I requested a quote/estimate and wasn't pleased with their formula. They want to charge me $85.00 for a visit. I can understand if that can be applied to total cost of service, but it does not -- only to parts. Thus, theoretically, if I needed just refrigerant, the charge would be Refrigerant (its not a "part") + Labor + $85; if a part costs $20.00 then total charge would be Labor + $65 (so you are paying $85 for a $20 part).

Unless your parts go over $85.00 you'd be paying a premium If I didn't want to do anything I would be charged $85, but that would be fair for their trip. I just don't understand why there is a trip fee for a service that is typically not done at the office anyway [Note: this was per phone conversation. I did not make the appointment, but they were willing to come out today] Just thought I'd give warning. Maybe that is industry standard, I'll find out from another co. If I find my review to be out of line later it will be modified accordingly

Oh yes, to make matters WORSE, once we received our "quote, " we asked the question, "Does the State of CA inspector have to come to our home and make sure that everything is installed up to code?" The answer that was given will SHOCK you! The man who did our "quote" for a new furnace said, "No!" Let me tell you all, folks, that is the WRONG answer, because once you have any remodeling, outside or in your home, or Air Conditioning, Furnace, or Water Heater. you DO have to have the state of CA inspector come out and make sure that the work that has been done is up to code!

Not sure what happened with this once "marvelous" company, but within the past two years or so, either the older folks who ran it retired or what happened, I'd keep on searching for a MUCH better and honest Heating and Air Conditioning "specialist." Just my 2 Pyreals.

I had them clean my ducting for $950 because of the 2018 Woolsey fire. I don't know what they did but I am getting more ash in my house then before they did it. They came and put a filter in one vent in my living room but that did not help. I called many times to get a redo and I could never get them to call me back. I challenged the charge and they still didn't call me.

Unfortunately I waited too long and it wouldn't approve charging them back. Now I have to spend a lot more money to have a more reputable competent company clean my ductwork because I am always sweeping and dusting up ash.

I have had CP heating and air come out to service an ac unit and then eventually install a new ac unit. After doing A LOT of research I have found their prices to be fair and competitive. They also offer a senior discount which was a nice touch. They were timely and professional and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I look forward to having them come out in the future when needed and would recommend them to any friends or family.

September 2020 - My home air conditioner was making a loud noise, so, I phoned Canoga Park Heating & Air Conditioning, the receptionist quoted me an $85 charge for a home visit. The technician arrived the next day, after checking several connections, he said I needed a new Capacitor. I agreed to the $100 charge for that part. The loud noise continued, now the technician tells me the compressor is failing and the unit needs to be replaced.

I said, I would think about what avenue to pursue. The technician then tells me my bill for this service was $385. I said, for what. Well the home visit was $85 and the capacitor was $100. So, I was scammed out of $200. I registered my complaint with Canoga Park Heating & Air, but of course, there was not a response. This company is a long tenured company, I don't understand how they stay in business with these deceptive bait and switch charges.

In the middle of a horrible heatwave and pandemic on a SUNDAY! Eddie must have heard the desperation in my voice when I called to leave a message on their answering machine to say that our air conditioning suddenly stopped working. We couldn't find any portable air conditioning units in any of the 12 stores we called and I was thinking about going to a hotel when we got a call from Eddie saying he would be here in 20 minutes and he was! and he fixed it and I was never so appreciative of anyone in my life! We were both so grateful so this is the place if you want the best service for your heating and air conditioning! Marcie and Len

I called to request to replace a pump at my evaporative cooler. I informed that I already bought a commercial grade pump, exactly same as broken one. My request for service was refused based on possible "warranty" issues. My guess, this is because they cannot mark up cost of a pump. Unacceptable!

Old School Service - Modern Technology! I have used Canoga Park Heating and Air to service my 30+ year old HVAC system since I moved into my house in 2006. They have always been courteous, knowledgeable and don't try to sell me stuff I don't need. I just had my blower fan replaced (it is used for heating and air conditioning and it was making a real racket) and Johnny was quick to find the problem, quick to order the part, ready to answer all of my questions and when it came to replacing the blower fan - he was clean, quick and friendly. (I have four cats so he had to work around them and he was a pro at THAT, too). I would recommend CPH&A to anyone who needs to repair or replace anything for heating or air conditioning. Top of the line!

These folks were a really bad experience. They just wanted to replace the whole system. "it is old" they signed me up for a credit program that they wouldn't give me copies of, which was very hard to cancel. I called Lennox via Costco - who were able to repair the system that Canoga Park Heating and Air Conditioning would not even offer to repair.

Yes I will need to replace the whole system eventually - but NEVER WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY WOULDN'T RESPOND ON THE PHONE OR BY EMAIL, WERE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I always try to shop local, these folks were a nightmare.go elsewhere.

LIAR! SCAMMERS! BEWARE! READ CAREFULLY. I was recommended to this company but a trusted friend and wonderful person, which makes this even worse! The lady in the office was lovely and very very nice; however, there "salesmen/liar, DAVE disgusted me! First impression of Dave, a nice guy. Then he goes to my furnace to check it out and opens the door slightly.

The door CAN open all the way, but he didn't do that. He only had the door open just enough so he could do his damage. A few seconds later he opens the door all the way and states; "here's the issue".wherein he revealed a rip in the duct work which had insulation padding around it. He goes on to say, " it had to be the people that installed your furnace".

The ironic part of that. My brother-in-law installed that furnace! The next ironic part to this is I had just put in a new filter a week before and the rip was not there! He then goes on to say, "the duct work had to all be redone and the furnace pulled out from the closest in order to get to the duct work." I asked why he could not just tape the rip as it was not very big?

He ASSURED ME "that would not work". He then left and nicely told me he would talk to his boss and call me the next day with the quote of how much it would be to fix it all. He did call, left a message."he spoke to his boss and it would only be between $2700- $3200 to fix everything." After I almost choked, I called a HVAC friend of mine. My guy came out and whola. Fixed the rip with 3 pieces of thick, electrical tape! (See photo below).

He also advised me the rip would not just happen! It had to be purposely done. WOW I WONDER HOW THAT HAPPENED!?!?!? I'm old but I'm not stupid! To anyone old or young reading this. BUYER BEWARE! If DAVE is reading this or the owner, I HOPE YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT ALL THE MONEY YOU'RE MAKING BY RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! It's OK, God sees you.,,, and so did I.

We contacted Canoga Park Heating and Air through the DWP A/C Optimization program. Our technician, Jose B., not only showed up on time, but was courteous, respectful and very knowledgeable during the assessment of the AC unit and installation of our new Nest thermostat. He explained everything thoroughly and without rushing. Thank you Jose for everything!

You are a true asset to the company! If and when we have issues with our unit, we will definitely be contacting Canoga Park Air from now on because of this very positive experience.
