Our AC had gone and we needed a quick fix during the summer heat. We called a different company and after 5 minutes of diagnosis got a quote for $4,000 that the compressor was shot and we should look to buy a new unit starting at $9,000. Luckily we hesitated and called Contemporary Air. Vinny came out the same day 3 hours after we called and did his due diligence to tell us that the compressor was fine.

He walked me through diagnosing the electrical from the motherboard was the issue which was a much cheaper fix. Vinny was very easy to talk to and explained what to look out for as a new home owner. Having someone honest, and not trying to take advantage of the situation speaks volumes to his character. We will be using their service in the future as needed.

Vinny arrived late in the afternoon for Standard ac maintenance and installation of thermostat. After explaining his $100 hrly fee and $ 65 service charge that our maintenance and thermostat install would be 150 to 200. He spent an hour and one half installing a thermostat and then informed me that the front was over filled and would burn up compressor, so he removed some. Encouraged us to install new unit very soon as the system is old.

At almost $ 400 for what should have been basic maintenance and thermostat install, he left. 7 days later, a/ c quit cooling. Being suspicious of Vinny and his drained freon and encouragement to purchase new unit, I called a different company. The freon was very low.wow! I saw the gage myself. Added freon, now system is great. Overcharged! Taken advantage of! Freon drained!

After 2 days finally received a call back from Vinny, after explaining the issues at hand he refused to refund any of the nearly $400. Said he would give me a credit towards future services with him Be Aware of this guy, do your research. I sadly did not

Vinny of Contemporary Air Services is the best. I've been using him for my home AC maintenance and repairs for at least 7 years. Last week my AC stopped working and Vinny was able to diagnose the problem within 1 minute of arrival. He repaired the AC within an hour. Would absolutely recommend Contemporary Air Service!

Very busy, but well worth the wait if you like things done right the first time. My parents started using Contemporary around 30yrs ago and passed the tradition on to me. Not one bad experience in all that time. Definitely my go to A/C company.

Company is a rip off. They misdiagnose issues and then bill you obscene prices for a job where they didn't fix the problem. Then when you try to discuss this with the owner he threatens to sue you if you don't pay. Have nothing positive to say about this company.

I have been using Contemporary Air for both my office and my homes for over 20 years. The service is always great, the office staff is professional and Vinny is the best! I have used them for replacing my A/C units and I use their regular maintenance plan which keeps the house cool and the units running efficiently. Really disappointed and felted cheated in the end. This company was my AC company for my home and business for 8 years and they let me down big time this year. They installed 3 units over the years and the one in my home that was installed in 2010 was installed incorrectly. Vinny the owner made me replace the coil for $1500 after only 30 months of a brand new unit.

And then it failed after 8 weeks and said I had to install it again for another $1500. Called another AC company and they did not only did I pay $800 too much on the orginal unit but Contemporary Air did not install it correctly hence the failure. And they didn't back up their labor with a guarantee. When I called the manufacturer to see what recource I had the owner of Contemporary threw me under the bus and said he didn't want to work with me so it delayed getting it fixed as the manufacturer needed a report of the unit from them.

When I called to say why he denied saying that. Big lie. Then he took 2 weeks to call me back while my unit was struggling in the middle of July! And then never returned my last email saying I was so disappointed in everything that happened. He moved so many appointments of times that he scheduled that it got to be annoying. He is a one man show so if he has more important clients forget about him seeing you. This is what I get after being a loyal customer with two locations for this many years.

I was out of town when my dog sitter called and told me my ac wasn't working. I called Contemporary because they had replaced a fan on my outside unit about a year ago and I wanted to make sure the fan wasn't the issue again. After two visits to the house the story of what was wrong with my system kept changing. First it was the fan which was 1 month out of warranty.

Then it was a power surge. Then when my father in law who works for the power company showed up the power surge was no longer the issue. Then it was the capacitor. I was charged for a new capacitor and tons of freon. The system sounded like a old world war 2 plane engine when they finished. This cost me almost $500. Less than 24 hours later the entire system crashes and locks up popping the breaker. Brought another company out who immediately found all the real problems and I replaced my entire system.

Contemporary calls later to suggest replacing just the outside unit at a cost of $2900. Yet another attempt to screw me. Let my $500 mistake be a lesson. Don't use this company even if they are the only ones open late In the evening. Go a night without air and get a trustworthy reliable decent company to actually help you.

My office uses Contemporary Air to service our units. Two weeks ago, the air stopped working and I had to contact Contemporary Air in order to have a tech sent out. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and immensely helpful to me. They had a tech out about 45 minutes later who fixed the unit and has us chilling in no time. He also took the time to tell me what was wrong (essentially, the AC had overloaded the electrical breaker and I hadn't thought to check the breaker) A few days later, the air stopped working again and I checked the breaker.

No surprise, it had tripped. So I flipped the breaker again and waited to see if it would happen again. I called the tech out again because I wanted to make sure the issue was with the breaker and not with our system. The tech was there in no time and replaced the breaker. He went above and beyond and replaced our filters for us. (I'm not sure whose job that was before but it wasn't happening).

Our company has had a relationship with this A/C Company for years now and there's a reason why, my experience with Contemporary Air was top notch. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and very helpful. Plus the office dog liked him, which is a selling point in my book.

AVOID these UNTRUSTWORTHY JERKS AT ALL COSTS! BEWARE! This place is a JOKE! They DON'T FIX ANYTHING! They only try to sell you on a new unit. then charge you over $150 for the sales pitch weeks later! Here's the basic rundown for my visit. AC repair man shows up, and right away I state that I don't want to purchase a new A/C unit. I clearly stated that I want my current A/C to be fixed.

No other option. I walked around with the guy as he showed me everything that was wrong with my A/C. He was degrading my AC stating this is garbage and that is a POS. He stated that my A/C was only supposed to last up to 12 years. My main unit is 15 years old! How can my A/C be a piece of junk if it's lasted 3 years beyond it's expected life? Moving forward, after about 20 minutes of inspection, he proceeded to attempt to sell me on a new A/C unit.

I was shocked because I thought I had made myself clear. not once but at least 3 times I stated I didn't want a new AC and that it wasn't an option for me. Yet he continued on as if I said nothing to him at all. as he explained how his AC unit was superior to mine and once again how my AC unit was a piece of junk. He gave me an approximate price for a new AC, followed by some financing options.

Talk about high pressure! I guess his brain couldn't process it when I said "I don't want a new AC, I want to fix the one I have". I've been to used car lots with less of a sales pitch! So the guy leaves my home, FIXED NOTHING! I'm no better off than before he arrived. He didn't even attempt to fix anything! It was if my AC was such a p.o.s. it wasn't worth fixing and the only thing for me to do was to buy a new AC from him!

The big surprise was when, many weeks later, he sent a bill for over $150! I repeat, he didn't FIX ANYTHING, and charged me OVER $150 for his unwanted sales pitch! WHO DOES THAT? Shady MFers! That's who! He could have charged me $300 to clean my AC and I would have been very happy with the visit! Instead, he came to my house, ripped on my A/C unit, gave me a heavy sales pitch on a new A/C, FIXED NOTHING, then sends me a GD bill for over $150!

The best part is, I cleaned the coils myself, put in a new AC filter, and my AC is still blowing ice cold air with no issues! It even went through the super hot summer of 2012 and even still now in 2013 my AC is going strong! I guess my AC isn't a pos after all! I mean, I don't need a golden AC, after all it sits behind a door hidden away from sight anyway!

Who cares what an AC looks like, it only matters how it works! So in the end, the guy from Contemporary Air looks even more like a SUPER DEUSCHE BAG! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
