Dixon A.C. & R. Corporation was established in 1946 in western Pennsylvania near Vandergrift by John C. Dixon. It has remained a family owned and operated business since. John Dixon moved the company to Williamsport and incorporated in 1956. After a successful tenure during which Gerald L. Miller operated the company from 1975 until 1995 the company has established itself as a premier mechanical contractor under the ownership of G. Lee Miller, the founders grandson since 1996.Ryan L. Miller, a fourth generation of family currently serves as Dixon AC & R Corp's VP of Operations.

Dixon ac/r installed a New AC unit awhile back. They pumped in the wrong coolant. Which contaminated both condenser and the unit on the furnace. They vacuumed the system putting the correct coolant in and charged me for the correct coolant. Since then if it 80 and higher, the system runs continuously and inside temp rises. Recently another installer came and pointed out Dixion ac/c stepped down the size of connection in order to use the original Cooper tubing. The under size fitting were uses at the furnace. The result. It starves the system for coolant making the temp rise. The owner was belligerent, and threatened me when I refused to pay over $300.00. I paid the bill, saving my credit.

These people just showed up at my house uninvited and unannounced. They dIdn't let us know that they were coming. They stay in our driveway for little and leave. Now we get a bill for $160 for nothing. My wife called to ask why they were here and the girl was very belligerent and told her that we have to pay the bill, for what. Two techs to sit in my driveway and do nothing and charge us two hours of labor.

My central air conditioning stopped working in the summer of 2017. I called Dixon and when the technician arrive, I was informed that I needed a relay switch but he didn't have any in the truck and had to go back to the shop and get one. The cost of the switch was about $15.00, but my total bill was over $300. I was charged for the technician having to return to the shop that he just came from. I understand not having large parts on the truck, but I feel that small parts like relay switches should be kept on the truck. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I was in a bind for an emergency fix during a winter storm last year. All other companies in the area related they would see if they could get someone out to me to fix my problem. I heard of Dixon through a family friend and decided to give them a call. They sent someone out right away, fixed my issue for a good price. Going to contact them in the future for all my needs. Met these folks at the regional home show. They seemed nice so I followed up with a phone call to have them come out to give an estimate on new air unit. The man I needed to speak with was out and I was assured he would call the following week. No one ever called back. My $4,200 went to another group I met at the home show.
