I had an issue come up with my older Carrier furnace. I called Jim's because they came up on a web search as an authorized Carrier service provider, with an award from Carrier. Mick was the HVAC technician who came, and he showed up very quickly after I had called, and finished the repair very quickly. I paid a fair price for the service. Very pleased overall.

So my furnace went out on a Sunday called Jim's to come out and fix it. After 10 minutes time with the tech blowing on a hose the stick low pressure switch which slowed the switch to close. 3 days later at 1am the same fault happens. I went to the intake hose and sucked pulling several ounces of water out of the switch. I then blew into the switch and unit for up fine. Needless to say I called to complain and they're like let's us come back and do a proper service.

So they send out the same tech. He spends maybe 30 minutes examining the system and tells me you've got a bad switch. I tell him to send me a bid. I received the bid and it's 450.00. Needless to say I know the switch costs under a 100.00 and I know that it takes less than 15 minutes to remove and replace it. So beware of shoddy techs and bullshit markups. If you're going to try and Fuck someone it isn't smart to do it to someone with an HVAC background.

1 star because 0 wasn't available. Thank you Jim's for leaving me in the heat for 2 weeks waiting for one of your technicians to charge me $132 to come out and tell me my A/C isn't working. Then even better, I can pay over $1,000 for a service, with no guarantee it would work afterwards. Wow. what a business. Is there no regulatory body for A/C repairs? Price gouging at its very worst. People. honestly, avoid these clowns.

Spent $130 for a call out fee because I wanted them to look into why my AC was making strange noises. After 2 minutes of looking at the outside of the AC unit, they said it will probably need a replacement, and quoted me $20k. They also suggested a service for $2700. Absolute joke, and a waste of $130.

Our service technician Jack was nothing short of fantastic. We had an issue with our new Trane gas furnace. It was not heating our house and had a stuck reverse blower switch. Jack installed a temporary switch and ordered a new one. When Jack returned to install the new switch he found that the temporary switch had also tripped as well which meant something else was going on with the unit. Jack was determined to find and fix the furnace and he found the issue.

Due to poor factory construction glue on the internal insulation had come unglued and smothered the coils causing the sensor switch to fault. Jack is the nicest, most honest and best service technician. Jim's heating and cooling should be grateful to have this man on their staff and if he worked for me I would be a happy business owner.

He said he has taught classes about heating/air conditioning systems and he was very informative about how our system works. Mick has been to my place a couple different times. He gave me a call saying he was on the way and arrived right on time for my annual furnace service. He is very friendly and personable. I have a couple little ankle biter dogs that always stress me out when people come. Mick wasn't a bit bothered and when I offered to lock them up, he said it wasn't necessary. I needed to leave before he was finished and felt totally secure and confident in him letting himself out of my garage.

Last night my furnace stopped working and wouldn't stay on for more than 20 seconds. After calling 4 other companies and told them I had no heat and was sitting in a 59 degree house the other companies said it would be 2-3 days before they could get to me. When I called Jim's, they said you have no heat? We are coming today! It will be after hours, but we will get to you today. What service and it gave me peace of mind to know I had someone to take care of the problem and that I could enjoy heat again!

We used Jim's to install our furnace and a/c years ago. They service the HVAC twice yearly and do a great job. Recently, we had a problem with the furnace and Iscaac diagnosed the problem for us. We took bids from several vendors for our new AC/heat pump. Jim's heating was right in line with the competition. Not higher, not lower. But they differentiated themselves throughout the purchase/installation process. First, they were able to obtain the best product for our needs in a very tight market. The salesman (Mark) maintained the highest level of professionalism and continued to be sensitive to our interests in difficult situations.

But it doesn't end there. I've worked in the trades my entire career. The install staff are among the finest craftsmen I've had to honor to know. They were consummate professionals throughout the installation. Further, they went so far as to correct a few other items that may have distracted from the value of their work. This install is something I will be proud of for decades.

While the install is not yet complete (it's been too hot to test the heat pump) I have every expectation that the warranty ensures that this fulfills my expectations. Jim's Heating has my highest recommendation and I have no reservations in referring friends to them. Michael Dempsey

Jim's Heating and Cooling replaced our 20 year old 75 gallon water heater today. It was a complex task given the size and the fact it sits 17 inches off the floor. Add in a circulation pump and the complexity increased the complexity of the task. It required some clever engineering to put it into place because of the height and weight. Once again, Jim's comes through. Honest and dependable service continues there. Thanks to Mitch and Jens and Theresa of the staff.

We had a great experience with the removal and installation of a new a/c unit with Jim's. Mark was very helpful and made sure the unit installation was quick and easy process for us. He was also very personable and reasonable. He got us scheduled for the next day so we had a cool house before the heatwave. Kyle, Ty, and Travis did a great job with the installation as well. Absolutely no issues! Keep up the great work!

Horrible experience : Technicians were incompetent, and spent $200. They just wanted to sell us a new AC $$$ We found another technician from another company who fixed it in 30 minutes and less than $150!

These guys did work to our thermostat in early December which resulted in the following power bills - Dec $247.03, Jan $310.66, Feb $263.29. After trying to track down the cause of those high bills Idaho Power suggested it was likely being caused by our HVAC system. A second tech from Jim's came out and said the last tech set the thermostat incorrectly and it was switching over to auxiliary heat way to soon which uses a lot of power.

I emailed Jim's about the high power bills being a result of the thermostat being set incorrectly and the general manager wrote back saying they didn't do anything wrong. Those power bills and the 2nd tech say otherwise. So, if you want some work done which may or not be done correctly and also enjoy customer service which refuses to admit a mistake, I would recommend Jim's. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere. We won't be using their services in the future and won't be recommending them to anyone.

Furnace went out Monday 1/21/19 evening at my rental in Eagle Id. Called Jims heating on Tuesday morning and they said would be out between 1-5PM. Said there was minimum $78 diag fee. Technician showed up at 5:45 and diag for 45 minutes to find out the integrated furnace control board went out. Tech in ten minutes replaced board with one he had on his truck.

Total bill was $486. I had no choice needed heat house was 49 degrees, Bill was the following -$78 diag fee which is fine -$408 for board and install ( board 4x6, right inside cover, bolted to furnace with 2 little sheet metal screws and had 2 plastic plugs and 8 individual wires. Tec installed in 10 munites) The board (Honeywell S9200U-1000 cost in line for as low as $98-$106).

I know the company needs to make money but $408 for 10 minutes and $100 part seems to be a little steep. I visited Jims this morning and the only one that would talk to me was the office manger and she said there was not anything she could do. I ask to speak to the manager that could make a decision. She went to get her and said she was in meetings and could not talk to me. I offer to setup a meeting with her and the office manager said she would not meet and the price was the price.

Very prompt response when we called with a malfunctioning air conditioner. We decided to replace both the old A/C and furnace, and we received great assistance in selecting new units. Everyone was on time, knew their job, installed the units efficiently, cleaned everything up, and checked back with us to make sure we were satisfied. A very complex process made very easy by Jim's Heating and Cooling.

From Mark's first visit to give us a quote to Stacey and Rick's wrap up meeting it was a great experience. When they said they would be here at 10:00, they were here at 10:00. When the told us the installer s would be here at 8:00 they were here at 8:00. They were professional and respectful of our home. I would recommend Jim's to friend, family and strangers!

Thanks for your Honesty. I Had an appointment to have my furnace serviced prior to winter, I was afraid I might need a new furnace because mines kind of old. Look no further than Jim's for your next HVAC need. Jim's contact center is extremely professional and friendly. The service call appointments are scheduled quickly and an accurate window of time for the tech's arrival is given. I was contacted by the contact center that afternoon to let me know that I was "next in line" and should be expecting a call from the tech soon.

Sure enough, the tech called within the next 15 minutes. When I met him at my home, he was very professional and courteous. He wore covers over his boots so as not to get my floors dirty. He took the time to explain what was wrong with my A/C unit in layman terms to me. He didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. The parts I needed were readily available on his truck and my A/C was thankfully running smoothly again very quickly. Highly recommend this company!

Jim's Heating & Cooling replaced our worn furnace in mid-December 2016. They were prompt and reliable, even though the temperatures outside were frigid. They had the old one out and the new one in within 4-5 hours. They went over the installation before leaving. A couple of days later, Mark came out and checked on the installation and made sure that we were happy with the install. They did a great job and I would recommend them and call them in the future.

Used them for years, but not anymore! Their estimate for work was 2x more than other companies. When our furnace was looked at by their competitor, they found that the a/c condenser had leaked into the furnace and it had rusted. Jim's Heating had been servicing our appliances for years and never found this problem.

The winter before this, Jim's suggested that we needed a new furnace and air conditioning unit which we purchased via the financing plan with them. This winter (2nd winter with the new furnace), Jim's called to schedule a routine maintenance call. Today the service technician performed the maintenance on the furnace only for us to be told that the motor is completely shot!

How can that be? The unit hasn't even run for two full winters?! To add insult to shock and disbelief, the tech. was saying that he didn't think it would be covered under the warranty. After we asked why we would be responsible for repairing a faulty unit they sold us, he became defensive and rude. He went out to his van for 20 minutes to talk to his "general manager" then came back to say that the parts would be covered but the labor would not!

We advised him that we still have six years to pay for the furnace and air conditioning units that we were sold and would not be paying for them to repair a unit that was clearly faulty when it was sold to us. As he stormed off, he said he would have his general manager contact us.will let you know how this turns out.

We have used Jim's for years. When our heater went out this winter, they couldn't come out to look at it for five days. Keeping loyal customers in the cold for five days does not keep customers loyal. Looking for a new service provider.

Extremely disappointed with Jim's Heating & Cooling. After asking them for a complete combined quote for full HVAC system checkup, they doubled the bill on me later, telling me the quote was for each unit (heating and AC separately). I was extremely clear up front what I wanted, and even asked them to give me one full number for both systems (sharing with them my lowest quote from A-1 Heating and Cooling).

And due to their lack of honesty, I eventually ended up paying more to Jim's then a lower quote I had gotten from A-1 to do the same work. I will never do business with Jim's again and should have stayed with A-1 (who were at least clear and honest about their quoted pricing). A pretty dishonorable way for Jim's to bait for an intended switch, .lesson learned.
