Technician showed up over two hours late from the scheduled appointment, which I had my nephew house sitting for the call. The technician after completing the work requested payment, which my nephew did not have and at the time of the appointment, I was not told that it was due immediately after the work. The technician then threatened to disable the HVAC if it was not paid, which my brother who had arrived called McGees and advised it would be paid Monday.
The technician, which was also supposed to be doing a standard service call, removed one of the filters, left in the hallway and did not replace it. Very disappointed in this, considering I purchased my HVAC unit with McGees.

I can't remember if I left a review for them several years back when they installed a new HVAC system with ducts into our home, and since I can't remember I wanted to be sure to leave one now. You won't meet friendlier, more professional or honest people. Everyone is so great. We continue to call Doug for issues, questions or even references for other work and he is always super responsive, always calls back, always helps and gives you honest advice.
The techs are amazing, they are super respectful everytime they come out. They are ask a very reliable company who stands by thier work. I remember back then we did have quotes for a little less money but Doug really sold us on using them and we continue to be very happy with that decision.

Great job by Eddie today! Another company tried to convince me I needed a $1400 repair on my 3.5 year old new heat pump. McGee quickly diagnosed a circuit board problem and covered the part under the Trane warranty. Fixed it and I believe it's finally working right again. Yay! We recently learned that we needed our heating/AC unit replaced. Bill came out to evaluate, we decided on the unit, and McGee's was able to come out the following day. Anthony, Austin, and Jaml were here bright and early. By the end of the day, our system and thermostat were installed and the area was cleaned and good to go. They even helped me install the app on my phone. We are pleased with our service and would recommend this company and these guys to anyone. :

We replaced independent upstairs and downstairs heat pumps. We had a long standing issue with one room staying a few degrees warmer than the rest of the house, and wanted both outside condenser units moved farther away from our screened in patio. McGee representative Doug Curry was the only one, of several company sales representatives, that mapped out options for all of our concerns.
He recommended one new supply and return for the affected room, and it has worked perfectly. We enjoy a lower noise level both inside the house and outside. The two new thermostats that we can adjust and program from both iPads and smart phones are really user friendly and very nice looking. The installation crew, Frank and Mason, were very professional and took great care in removal of the old systems and installing the new.
We had one concern with the high speed of the air handler upstairs, and another McGee technician, David, quickly came out and made a perfect adjustment. All in all, we would recommend McGee heating and air to any of our friends. We are very pleased.

The marine air in our houseboat died, so we called McGee out of Hartwell. We'd never used them before, but had heard positive comments about them. They dispatched Chris out the next morning & he diagnosed the problem very quickly. It required a pump that had to be ordered, which they did. They called the day it came in & sent Chris back out early the next morning.
He did a fantastic job of installing the new pump, plus some other work we'd asked for. And of course, these things always happen when the weather is at its worst. The heat has been miserable. My heart went out to him working in the hole of a very hot boat, but he never complained - just got it done. The boat is again a comfortable 72 degrees. So glad we made the call to McGee!

Run RUn RUn RUn DO NOT USE! If I could give a negative 50 I would. Unfortunately I am plagued by constant failures with a HVAC heat pump Duane and Armstrong air handler. Yes cheap mismatched units by a bankrupt builder who should rot in hell. New house in 2005 with yearly HVAC repairs. Yes new house and HVAC FAILURES. Tried to go local in Anderson SC Huge mistake using McGee for repairs. Seemed to be reputable on the internet, but in reality like most contractors in Anderson SC they are incompetent uncertified idiots.
I stress idiot uncertified idiots technicians. Or actually shade tree mechanics. Wall mart wont hire them. So in the multitude of repairs, they up charged me 200 dollars for a capacitor that I can buy on amazon for $12, and $800 to change a dryer component which in reality was not replaced. Photos prove part not replaced verified by date code which is 10 years old.
Fast forward to 2017. Hurricane, power outage brown out power on off etc for 2 weeks. Had another HVAC contractor inspect for latent damage who I used before, BEST from Seneca SC. Found McGee severely over charged for repairs not done, components not replaced, lack of professionalism, un certified technicians, parts left unconnected, screws not secured, panels not secured or attached.
I was informed that due to the incompetence of this business, that they un benounced to me injected stop leak into the system in both of my HVAC units. Was informed that stop leak is a death sentence to all HVAC systems and is a tactic by incompetent McGee Just to sell you a $10,000 replacement system. Outside contractor indicated this is a death sentence and a ploy by the company to sell you a $20000 replacement RUN RUN RUN. These idiots need to go away now!

During an extreme cold spell this week at our home in Lake Hartwell we noticed our heating system was having a difficult time reaching temperature and that the system seemed to run constantly. We do not live here full time as this is our second home and we were there for the weekend. We finished our basement in 2010 and had a new Trane system installed by McGee and it has worked flawlessly up to this point.
I called about possible service the next day as I knew their service folks would be very busy during this cold snap and snowfall. The lady (Anne) was extremely polite, asked what the issue was, took down my name and number and said she would have the technician call before coming out. Three hours later the phone rang and the technician (Lance) said he would arrive in about 15 minutes.
Ten minutes later he was at the door. Lance was fast and efficient and explained to me his every move in testing the system, identifying the problem, and recommending procedures for us to better manage our heating and air needs to help keep energy costs down. Upon completion of the indoor system Lance went outside to check the compressor, etc. Upon his return he entered with invoice in hand to inform me there was good news and bad.
The bad news was that there was an expansion valve faulty in the unit and a new part would be ordered. The good news was the part will be adequate for our needs until a new part was installed as it was functioning but not as efficiently as it should be. The really good news was that the invoice amount was zero as we have a ten year warranty on our system so no charge for service call or parts.
I hope Lance is the one to return and install the new part, as he was very personable and professional. To say we are pleased with Mc Gee in Hartwell would be an understatement. Highly recommend these folks!
