We got a second opinion on R&B's diagnosis of our HVAC problem because the service person didn't seem very thorough. We learned that they had made a blatant misdiagnosis because it was immediately obvious to the secondary HVAC company that the blower motor was perfectly functional, which they demonstrated to us then and there. We obviously moved forward with the 2nd company but, despite our objections, R&B still insisted on collecting their diagnosis fee.

The whole point of the diagnosis fee is to identify the problem, which they failed to do. Sloppy all around. We will be making clear with building management that R&B should no longer be recommended to other owners/tenants.

They are professional, thorough and well versed in the trade. If they say they're going to be at your house at 7:30 a.m., they will be there at 7:30 a.m. If you call them after hours, they will call you back within the hour. I think they are exceptional.

I have been consistently impressed by R & B Incorporated over many years. Recently, my gas furnace required emergency service and the HVAC technician, Jorge Romero, came out quickly and fixed the problem. He also noticed some unusual behavior and found a crack in the heat exchanger, making the furnace unsafe to operate. His meticulous attention to detail is greatly appreciated. Also, several years ago a R & B incorporated technician installed at Nest thermostat and their corporate office professionally handled a post install billing issue; no questions asked. I highly recommend R & B Incorporated for HVAC service and installations.

My HVAC Heat went out 2 days before Thanksgiving Overnight temps had been in the 20's. I called R&B and the entire experience was extremely pleasant. The dispatcher was courteous and put Me on the list right away. The Technician "Christian" arrived less than an hour later. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem and Repaired it. Christian was very courteous and explained everything thoroughly.

The repair price was very reasonable. I was completely satisfied with the customer service and the Work performed. I highly recommend this company to anyone requiring HVAC service or repairs.

I've used their services at least three times in the past and this time I called to get a quote on a new hvac system for my rental. I asked the lady if the estimator would be able to call me while he was there so we could discuss options as the space for the unit is small and challenging. She acted like I was asking for the moon and said he might call a few days after that.

It was pretty amazing. I called her out in how it wasn't a lot to ask for a phone call since I had to be at work and she didn't adjust her attitude. I told her I'd be taking my business elsewhere.

Can't say enough about the technician Christian. He was patient and explained everything to me in a way that I could completely understand. He took his time and checked my system and repaired it without any problem. The office staff was very accommodating when I told them that my 91 year old father lived with me and the house was becoming uncomfortable.

She dispatched Christian right away. R and B was recommended by a friend who was retired from the industry after 50 years. He said they were the best and they proved him right. Highly recommend them!

Hi neighbors- I just wanted to share the great experience we've had with R&B AC/Heating. My AC broke and they came and fixed it for a reasonable price. What I like about this company is that they are honest and completely upfront. Yes- I paid the energency after hours fee- but they were completely upfront about it. Thank you Dave for fixing our AC tonight and all the technicians that have come over the years from this company. I am so pleased with this company! I just wanted to share!

Based on positive reviews on this site, I contacted R&B for a service contract on a new Fujitsu ductless mini-split system installed in my home about a year ago. I was told a service contract would come to my email address within a few days. It didn't. Assuming the request might have gotten lost in the Covid/remote-work shuffle, I called again.

I was told a service contract would come to my email address within a few days. It didn't. I saw on the company website that one could email someone named "Mike" directly. I emailed Mike and said I was interested in signing a service contract. No response. Perhaps the company offers service contracts only if it does the initial installation. But no one said that.

No one said the company is not interested in small residences. Instead, the company pretended it was going to welcome a new customer. If emailing "Mike" from the website wasn't going to get a response, then the company shouldn't pretend that it will. The problem could be back-office inefficiency or something much worse.

It is really hard to find a consistently high quality and reputable company that always gets the job done. R & B has helped us through multiple HVAC problems and upgrades over the years for a great price. A recent example, the home warranty company we got with the purchase of a new house sent two other companies out to our house who failed to identify any problem and left us in 85° heat for weeks.

We called R & B who came out within 48 hours, quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty condenser fan capacitor, and restored cooling within an hour. R & B also completely replaced the HVAC in our split-level older home and rebalanced all of the heating and cooling perfectly so we had a consistent temperature on all floors. Thanks for great service!

Blower motor died on condenser unit. Our usual HVAC guy was unavailable for a few days but R&B slotted us in on same day we called. Technician diagnosed the problem quickly, meaning blower needed to be ordered but technician advised that we have our regular HVAC guy deal with it because of a complex tie-in with our solar hot water system. Technician serviced our rental unit heat pump efficiently and charged us only for that. Honest and fair.

If you have a Fujitsu ductless unit, this is who you need to call! I wasted time and company with another HVAC company that had never worked on a Fujitsu before. R&B was also able to figure out that our unit was still under warranty! They saved me $$! They had a tech out to my house with hours. The tech wore a mask. He was friendly and did a good job explaining the issue.

R&B installed our A/C system 20 years ago and have maintained and repaired it when necessary it ever since. They also service our boiler and did a major repair on it a few years ago. I am a very happy customer. Just had my entire HVAC systems replaced. I had three other quotes and some cheaper but David Snyder from R&B had a systems approach for the entire house and worked with me to understand the unique aspects of my system and house and existing duct system and how to best accommodate the upgrade. Andrew the lead technician for installation work was awesome as was Steve who led the duct work. David stayed in touch the entire time the work was being done and worked a couple of issues very quickly. These guys were responsive and professional and i am thrilled with the work they did. Highly recommended!

Christian Earhart of R&B heating and air conditioning did a great job today in identifying an issue with a high efficiency a/c system and finding a leak on a second house. Their price was reasonable, service was prompt with a call and email beforehand by Phann White, who noted and honored a request for additional prep time before the call. Chris wore mask, gloves and foot protectors in both homes and was cognizant of social distancing. I would definitely request him again! R&B is a great consumer choice.

After a year of touch and go reliability problems with my 20+ year old heat pump, the grim reaper finally showed up and "old reliable" made its final revolution. I was prepared for the news and had no reservations calling R & B, our neighborhood HVAC business. I knew I'd pay a bit more than a cut-rate outfit but the customer service and installers were incredibly good and professional.

The first guy came out to look at my old unit and a new one was installed over the next two days. While I never was without heat overnight, they offered to lend us space heaters overnight, which were not needed. One aspect that was particularly nice is that they only have employees and don't subcontract out their services. I am very confident with their work and my choice to use R&B Inc.

This is a review not based on any work this company did, but on how they gave me the bid. My neighbor, who was about to use this company to have her AC unit replaced, recommended it to me. A technician came out to take a look and gave me a bid. The bid I got was not only significantly higher than the price I ultimately paid--for exactly the same materials and same work--but also a few hundred dollars more than my neighbor's bid! (My neighbor shared a copy of her bid with me, made by exactly the same guy.) Is that because I am NOT white, whereas my neighbor is? I can't help but wonder. At least this is a sign of dishonesty. Avoid by all means. There are plenty of great alternatives out there.

I was looking forward to perhaps installing an Unico system in my one bedroom condo. My condo has very limited space, and I really need to build out a closet. The Hvac is hampering me from doing so. I needed it either reconfigured or replaced, and was hoping for some help from them. Not to mention the current system is attached to an old ceiling above the current ceiling that is concaving in.

So there is some serious repair and/or replacement that needs to happen. The service technician that came not only canceled and hour before our scheduled appointment the first time, but was completely and utterly discouraging and an utter nay sayer. He had ZERO ZERO ZERO interest in helping me or looking to solve my issue. I had to politely ask him to leave.

There is nothing worse than not being heard and having someone immediately say no, be not interested in what your needs are, and not looking to help solve an issue. I'm so disappointed, nearly in tears. Not to mention furious. What a waste of my time and energy. Am looking elsewhere for someone who AT LEAST LISTENS and AT LEAST WILL TRY TO ATTEMPT TO HELP. I do NOT recommend this company in the strongest terms possible.

As a professional residential remodeler, I've used many HVAC companies. I've never had more callbacks and problems than on the Unico system that R&B installed in one of the houses I redid. That alone would be ok, but at every turn R&B tried to pass the blame and assumed zero responsibility for any of the issues. Additionally their billing is unreliable, causing more hassle with sorting through old invoices to see what has been paid and what has not.

I will not be using them again. Note: Every technician and installer that came out for this project was always professional and knowledgeable. The issues I had were with the managers, the estimators/contract reps, and the back office.

Recommended to me by a friend who is very particular - I was looking for an honest HVAC company and having the hardest time as many of these contractors in NO VA are crooks. R&B Incorporated came out on time, diagnosed the situation correctly and showed up at the appointed time with the new air conditioner unit at a fair price. The installation team was polite, knowledgeable, and did a craftsman-like job, and cleaned up 100% afterwards.

My wife commented "They were the Best". I examined their work and its very professional. See the photos - they silicone seal the humidifier to the coil and supplied us with a clean out trap and brush (most HVAC installers would not bother with these small but significant details). This sort of works defines them as professionals. Five stars for them and I will use them in the future as well.

The house we purchased has an HVAC with a record of maintenance, performed by R&B. It is obvious that they removed the filter from the internal unit and did not replace. I called to discuss, but they repeatedly would not return my phone calls. The previous owner was duped, but I will be using someone else. You should too.

We had R&B replace our gas powered furnace in January for us and didn't have any issues with that. However, I'm fairly sure R&B put the wrong sized unit in our home since our air return makes a noise whenever the unit turns on. The cost at the time was cheaper to other providers in the area. R&B beat another company in price but matched their two yearr warranty offering. R&B's install technicians arrived on-time and completed the install in the time they promised.

They were quite tidy and seemed to be very cognizant of the area they were working in. My second experience with R&B was not nearly as smooth. We've been having a hot water heater issue so I requested R&B come out and take a look. What I didn't know was that I was paying an automatic $106 service fee. I was never told that by the dispatcher on the phone or by our sales representative.

The technician also arrived an hour early even though I had selected a 3-7PM time slot. R&B acted like this was my fault even though I was told to call their offices after 2:00PM to determine where I was in the queue so I could leave work and meet the technician. Since the technician was already waiting at my house, I decided to Lyft home to meet them and to my surprise, they weren't at my home waiting.

I called R&B to voice my frustrations with this and again, I was treating like I made the mistake and no concern was given to how this affected my workday. I rushed home, paid extra for a Lyft, and still have a broken water heater. R&B quoted us approximately $500 to repair the hot water heater even though the part costs $53 on amazon and can be installed in less than an hour.

Professional employees who design duct work well and work very clean! Love working with them. However, they don't care how things look. The service is quite pricy, and we expected someone would care to close the huge cut out areas in the wall with some drywall. There is no attention to offering a finished product, just a functional one. Customer satisfaction does not appear to be highly regarded.

For the cost of services, it is an unacceptable end product with varying cut out wholes around each duct in the wall! I was shocked to learn they were not coming back to cover the huge holes! Expect to hire another crew to finish what they start for you.

R&B installed the a/c Unoco unit about 4 years ago. Recently, the unit was only give warm air in the heat of summer. Jose came over to service it. Very professional and honest. Was only a couple hundred dollars including service call fee. Very trustworthy and good people!

My unit broke down on Sunday when it was about 97 degrees and I called R&B Sunday evening and left a message on answering service and they called back by 9 am Monday and was able to get me on their schedule by Tuesday. Not only did they fix my AC they also did a courtesy follow up to ensure that my AC is still working. I cannot thank R&B enough for their quick turnaround and their attention to customer satisfaction.

I recently had an AC unit repaired by R&B based on recommendations I read on Yelp. I was hoping to find a company I could rely on in the future, but sadly, the search will have to continue. So that you can gauge response times, I called in the repair on a Tuesday morning and they couldn't fit me into their schedule until Friday. The basic service call charge is $127.95, which is fairly standard.

Even though the unit was under warranty, the technician balked at performing any work because I purchased it from some other company (he claimed he couldn't do warranty work on a Carrier product unless I purchased it from them). When pushed, he called the main office and they confirmed he could do warranty work. The technician suspected that there was a leak because the system had no refrigerant.

To perform a leak test they charge $600. The test confirmed that the coil had a leak and needed to be replaced. From the diagnosis until the repair was completed it took 11 days (many of which were unseasonably hot), which I think is unacceptable. I pushed for expedited shipping of the part and offered to pay (it had not even occurred to them to ask the supplier for expedited shipping options).

In the end, what I was told would be "overnight" shipping translated into the 11 day delay. R&B blamed it on the supplier and the shipper, which could be true, but there didn't seem to be any project management going on at R&B. It took daily prompting and check-ins with them to get anything done, and obviously that didn't work out too well for me. I give two stars because the people were always friendly and the unit now works, but that isn't enough to overcome the otherwise deficient service.

R&B just replaced the compressor in our air conditioning unit and did a first-rate job. From start to finish, our experience with R&B was overwhelmingly positive and professional. Our Rheem air conditioning unit just gave out.at the wrong time of course, and we called our go-to company, Kesterson. Because of warranty issues, we had to use R&B, and I'm glad we had the chance to see what they could do.

We initially contacted them via their website (because it was late in the evening). By 5:30 that morning, I received an email detailing what I could expect in the coming hours, and then a few hours later, I got a call from the owner who couldn't have been nicer! The owner and I spoke 2 or 3 times over the next hour about warranties and parts availability and by noon that day, we had a fair price and concrete plan to get our air conditioner repaired. I'll never forget this part of the experience.

As we wrapped up our conversation, the owner said "before we leave your house on Saturday, we'll make sure everything is working to your satisfaction and that you're comfortable with the service we provided!" Their technician just left and our air conditioner is working perfectly!

These guys were a lifesaver. We have a 4 Monty old baby, so one Friday we woke u p and our basement had pools of water around the a/c. It had recently been in the 90s the day before so I knew the a/c had been working overtime. Really there are two things thatll have cause the problem And neither am I prepared to handle myself. We turned the a/c off and started to call around to find an appointment.

My wife got ahold of the dispatch / office manager at R and B and explained the situation. Also explained we had a baby and they were sympathetic, the lady explained she could squeeze us in BUT we had to be flexible with time AND answer when the technician called. Since it was going to be in the 90s that day, and we happily agreed. She said they'd call between 3 and 7.

At 330 I got a call from the tech saying hed be there in 20 minutes. When he arrived he was very nice, used the little booties to cover his shoes when he went through the house. After diagnosing the problem he showed (and explained) to me what happened Ned, what he was going to do to fix it. Condensator had backed up, both clogged and had a bad angle.

The repair took about and hour and half total, and he even checked the system outside to make sure my coils were Ok. Very nice guy. The fee was in the mid 300$ range, which, I expected could have been higher for a same day service. I appreciate the care they took when considering what we were going through. And would use R & B again.

Great experience with R & B Heating and Air Conditioning for replacement of a condominium unit heat pump system. The new system maintains a more comfortable climate than I've ever had in the past 10 years at a terrifically reasonable cost I couldn't find anywhere else! I needed to replace a heat pump system leaking coolant (12-year-old builder's original installation). I had to change both the rooftop heat pump and the apartment-size wall-mounted indoor air handler at the same time due to the outdated coolant (R-22). I sought estimates from five HVAC companies, but R & B somehow came in significantly less than their competition.

I appreciated the salesman's calm, friendly demeanor (Mr. David Gordon) as he explained the options for replacing the apartment-sized system. He gave me an easy-to-read work proposal with a detailed description of a replacement Carrier system with some optional upgrades. He quickly answered all my questions about Carrier heat pump models, performance, and the optional upgrades.

I selected the proposal for a Carrier Comfort series 14 SEER heat pump (most economical of Carrier's three series) paired with a new apartment-sized wall-mounted air handler, with a new Honeywell touchscreen programmable thermostat (VisionPro 8000). The installation team of Rom n and Tommy seemed young but proved they had plenty of experience and knew their procedures.

They politely answered all my questions and worked methodically to remove and replace the indoor air handler and the rooftop heat pump. Fitting the new system challenged them but they worked hard! I also proved a tough R & B customer that day. When Rom n and Tommy removed the indoor air handler and we saw the large amount of space to work with, I told them to stop and allow me to decide about upgrading to Carrier's larger, premium series air handler and heat pump. Mr. Gordon drove over within an hour to discuss the new proposal and options, but I ultimately choose to continue with the more cost-effective system. Work re-commenced immediately and although they couldn't finish by the end of the day, R & B sent Rom n early the next morning to complete the job.
