I foolishly ignored the dozens of reviews about this company and asked them to help us fix a leaking humidifier. They stopped by, said the humidifier was fine but we needed to replace the pad. So we thanked them, went to Lowe's, and bought a new pad. We never received an invoice but a month later received a statement claiming a past-due balance of $160. They never mentioned a trip charge to help diagnose the problem, certainly not a charge of $160.

Tried to charge $5000 for a cost estimate. Don't waste your time, any reputable mechanical contractor will happily provide a free estimate for service

Beware! This company will fraudulently try to claim payment for services never provided or not completed. Their technician promised to come out for days, and when they showed up, claimed they couldn't do the work, left abruptly and billed me anyways. When I refused to pay for the sham, they sent out for debt collection. Highly unethical, unprofessional and incapable. STAY AWAY.

Terrible. Called them out for broken a/c. Tech spent 5 minutes looking at a/c and wanted to replace motor when the condenser had visible deterioration. We asked for an estimate for a new a/c and he said they couldn't get to it for 3 months, so he'd just replace the motor. Never heard back with an estimate for the motor or a new unit after a week. The bill did arrive promptly, and the tech tried to bill us for 2 hours of service when he wasn't even here an hour. The billing department agreed to reduce the bill to one hour when I called them out on it.

Came out to investigate lockout on my boiler. So helpful, friendly and even stayed to help with a few small plumbing needs. Thank you so much! Service: HVAC system maintenance

Critical: Responsiveness Tried to book an appointment to have my AC serviced that they installed. I called 4 times over the space of 2 weeks and was told each time, that I would get a call back. Never happened. Never heard back. Ended up using another local company that confirmed an appointment same day.

Beware! In 2014, I had a new heating system installed by R & H Mechanical in my home at Copper Mountain, CO. I've had nothing but maintenance issues since; multiple service calls, including no heat in the winter. R & H did a routine maintenance check (prepaid maintenance program) on 7/31/20, and found extremely high carbon monoxide levels. They returned 4 times, but no one could diagnose why the levels were over 2000 ppm.

On August 25, an R & H employee came to my home unannounced at 5 pm, and said he had to turn the boiler off. He told me R & H Mechanical had instructed him to do this because of a life threatening issue, and fear of liability. This came after their "team" had just been there on 8/21, admitted they couldn't figure out what was wrong, but assured me I was safe.

The boiler being turned off with no notice, left me alone, in my 70's, in a pandemic, with no heat or hot water. After R & H shooting in the dark for a few more days, (I, of course, wanted them to find a solution) I called in another company, who also couldn't diagnose the issue, except for the strong probability, there had been something wrong since the installation.

I was left with no alternative, but to have a new boiler installed with a different company. Needless to say, being alone with no hot water or heat in a pandemic for 8 full days was beyond stressful. The average consumer has no clue what goes on with a boiler in their crawl space, so that's why we try to hire the best and most trustworthy people to help us. Sadly, R & H performed at a very low level, in fact, at one point in all the disorganization, a manager of theirs, told me someone from the manufacturer told them to "cut their losses", and terminate the job. I have been in touch with the manufacturer only to be told R & H Mechanical never contacted them for help or advice on my issue. Beware!

Our baseboard heaters were not warming up this winter so we called this company. The service man checked the heaters in the kitchen/living room/dining room which included 2 thermostats. He said we needed a part for one of the thermostats and he would have the central office book a good time to come and install. The next thing I know is that I received a bill for $265.$25 for trip charge and $240 for 2 hours labor.

I called the office and told them they never came back with the part and they said the heaters were working so nothing more was to be done. $265 to tell me my equipment was working!

This is by far the best HVAC, Mechanical company in the valley. This company is like a big family with decent people who really know their stuff and very honest. They have on staff engineers, sales teams, installation teams, service teams, and technicians with 20+ years in the business who really know their stuff. There is a reason this company has been around so long.

They are a trusted company with a long list of dedicated customers who use them exclusively, including Vail Resorts, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, and literally thousands of high end home owners. With a staff of 100+ employees, R&H is the largest company of its kind in the valley. How do I know this? I am a technician at this company so I have firsthand knowledge of what goes on here.

If the management finds a dishonest technician they are fired on the spot. We are the only company who has in house training and sends techs across country to specialized training classes with manufacturers of the products we service and install. I've worked with other companies and NONE compare to R&H. If you are looking for the best service in the Valley, call R&H Mechanical. If you want cheaper service, call joe blow with a truck.then call us to fix it later on.

I had my water heater die at my Airbnb while guests were staying there. When I talked to one of R&H's competitors, it looked like it was going to be a 1 week wait for a new heater and then install it. R&H had the new water heater installed the very next morning. I still can't believe it. They saved me from disappointing two separate upcoming guest reservations with no hot water. R&H is the best. Preston went above and beyond.

I was looking for an HVAC company in the Vail Valley to partner with for our heating and electrical needs. I called R & H Mechanical to come out to fix some malfunctioning electric baseboards we have at our condo. I requested that they have the technician coordinate with me, since some of our family members were staying at the condo and were not going to be there all the time. R & H did not, and when the technician showed up, he tried to communicate with the person at the condo, who was a guest, and not the family member that knew what was going on.

He stated he couldn't find anything wrong and left. I asked them to come back out, and when they coordinated with my family member, he determined that the thermostat was bad. He replaced it, declared it fixed, and left. The original bill was north of $500. I complained about the multiple trips and they lowered the bill to about $350 (thank you).

Upon my arrival here a few months later, the baseboard was constantly on and the bedroom was about 85 degrees, despite the fact that it was currently about 18 degrees outside. I called another local HVAC contractor, and he came and determined that the thermostat installed was the wrong voltage (110V. instead of the needed 220V). Also, the baseboards were "hotwired" and stayed constantly on.

Upon requesting a refund for the incorrect thermostat that was installed, and even taking it to their office in Eagle, a 30 minute trip, I was told that there would be no refund or no resolution. I believe this service is not acceptable and therefore I do not recommend R & H.

I cannot say enough good things about this team. We had a CO leak, our furnace was red tagged. They were there the NEXT DAY to evaluate, and the furnace was in by the end of the week. While doing the furnace, they also replaced the hot water pipe, set us up to add air conditioning and other work and did not charge labor hours. They are extremely fair, fast, carry the best brands, and tailor their response to your needs. Highly recommend them! They went above and beyond to make sure the mechanical room was up to date. Pricing is extremely fair considering the excellence of their work.

I found this company to be dishonest, hard to communicate with and ultimately incompetent. Also, one of the techs started yelling at my wife and small children at city market over a parking space. They know there are limited companies doing this work in summit/eagle county and they take full advantage.

Pretty disappointing and I won't be hiring them again. I had to work and my mom was present for the inspection. I just wanted to have my unit serviced. They were supposed to be there at 8 am and were not there until 8:20. They told my mom that my programmable thermostat was broken and needed replaced. I find that odd when I hadn't had any issues with the thermostat.

They then replaced it with a non-programmable. He was on the phone twice with other customers, not just quick conversations, while at my home. I asked my mom to see how much it would be and he said he couldn't give her a cost. Said it would be 2 hours of labor and the cost of the thermostat. He left around 10:15. I received a bill a week later for 3 hours of work, a $25 trip charge (that was never mentioned) and $70 for the NON- programmable thermostat.

I called and they claim they have gps and he was there for a total of 2hours and 20 minutes, so they revised the invoice for 2.5hours. Also, I can purchase a 7day programmable thermostat for $30 and a wifi-connective programmable thermostat for only $100. Their thermostat was severely overpriced and I'm mad that I had to go out and buy another thermostat on top of this one that actually has the functions of the original, that they took so I couldn't even reinstall it. After speaking with others, this seems to be their typical MO, which is quite unfortunate.

Dave and I just wanted to send a note to thank R & H for the fabulous job they did in installing our central air. We had a quote from another firm as well but we chose R & H and we are glad we did. Their/your employees were fantastic and respectful of our property, and easy to communicate with. We were traveling when they did the installation so we did not meet the entire crew but we had the opportunity to meet Luke, the superintendent, and Brian, the start-up technician both of which were obviously well-experienced.

We saw Luke again during the city inspection - very professional and, once again, it was obvious he had a great professional relationship with the inspector. In visiting with Luke he spoke highly of R & H and its management, to us that reflects on the core values of a company. These are important characteristics of a trusted company. We would not hesitate to recommend R & H to anyone and please use us as a reference, if needed. Brian Bahr, in particular, was a gentleman in presenting our options and associated costs which helped us to make a more informed decision - his communication skills are above and beyond the typical customer service you receive in most service or construction industries. On a side note, we are fortunate to have Brian and his family as our neighbors. Great job to all!

Excellent service. My heat went out overnight. James arrived first thing in the morning, fixed the issue and explained the problems thoroughly. I will be using R&H in the future for routine maintenance. Would highly recommend R&H

This is a horrible company! I had 4 different tech guys on 10 different occasions and it still took 4 months to get it right! They would come out, I would explain to them what is wrong, they would change the filter, wiggle some wires and reset the breaker and they would say it was fixed and leave. I would beg them to stay and wait a few cycles for it to go off and they refused.

They charged us over $1000 and I demanded to talk to the person in charge and they gave me the owner and after an hour long discussion he explained to me that he was not very hands on with the company, didnt really know much about ac/heat, gave a small refund and put me in touch with the head ac tech. I spoke with him and he pretty much just made excuses for his guys mistakes and said they were all young and still learning.

So I begged him to please just come and stay until the ac brakes (usually takes an hour or so to shut itself off) he did and after 9 more hours it was finely discovered that a pipe and censer was faulty placed. Long story short, this company has so many employees that the owners and managers are clueless. The Employees are very rude and disrespectful and are in such a hurry to get on to the next job that they dont take the time to do it right or to make sure the job is complete before they rush out the door.

Yes they have a lot of nice trucks and fancy uniforms, but have zero respect for the customers. if you are looking for honest reliable service, I suggest you use a more local mom and pop company were the owners are hands on and aware of the day to day operations. Please think twice before wasting your money with this company. R and H Mechanical you did a terrible job, thanks.
