I promised an update. I am changing my rating for now. It seems there was a thermostat issue (it was replaced no problem) and a wiring issue. When I asked why the wires weren't looked at during install he admitted that that should have been checked over to see if it was working. I can appreciate that he admitted that and didn't try to dodge it. The wires were existing so I appreciate that he was respecting my intelligence enough to tell me that the existing wire issue should have been noticed and found during install (this is the first time we've needed AC since install).

He showed me a photo of the system, in reference to what the inspector had commented to me. I can completely agree with him the system in no way looks like it was dropped and so I am Unsure why the inspector chose to describe it that way. The tech made it sound to me that the door was maybe a little off center a bit and wasn't aligned when the inspector saw it, the unit is not dinged or anything. So, for now, I am updating my rating. Trying to be understanding of some things that are out of their control (a bad motor in the zoning was the first issue and it likely came from the factory that way) and the thermostats wiring was an issue this second time.

He told me the tech who installed the unit originally is no longer with them. And I am glad because it seems he did not check the AC after the install to insure it was running. Throughout my process with the company I have dealt with Justin, Adam, Alan and Amber and Jenna. All of the staff have been polite to me. Even when at times in frustration I was not because I was aggravated at the situation.

So as far as professionalism I can not complain. Although I hope to not need to see them again until our maintenance service! Original review I have tried to avoid writing a bad review but as I sit in my bedroom that is 80degrees after hours I feel extremely frustrated and disappointed. We had two new systems installed in November 2021. One system wasn't working within a month.

The first technician that came out said it was a plug that hadn't been plugged in. He said it was all good and it came back on it went back off within hours of him leaving, the second technician who came out told us that it something else and again it worked for a bit but within a day or two was not working again, finally the installer came out some days later and fixed the issue and the heater continued to work for the rest of the season. Alan was great (I think that was his name, our original installer) friendly and understanding of my frustrations at that point.

Today we tried to turn the other AC on and the compressor is not coming on. It's 80 degrees in the bedrooms of our house. While we can luckily move to a different part of the house where the other unit is working, I feel it's ridiculous that we should need to. When the inspector came to look at the units for the permit there was also an issue and the company had to send someone to come out and fix.

I'm not An HVAC person all I can say is that the inspector for TOC told me it looked as though the system had been dropped. I understand things happen and things break but I feel that for a $30k investment we should not have non working units at all within 5 months of installation, much less have them stop working 4 times, it makes me question my decision to use this company.

Staff has been friendly to me so I will not rant on them but I can not recommend this company. I will update this review when the issue is taken care of. EDIT: I did not receive a call back at all last night about the system. We had to play musical chairs to find a cool area of the house. My husband has just had neck surgery. so again, while I'm grateful we do have two systems and have cool areas of our house, he had to spend much of the night laying on the couch which is not helping with his neck healing. All of the beds in our house are in the area that is not working. I guess I'll be trying to call again once they are open.

I had my thermostat blank so called them for diagnostic. They sent technician on the same day for $89 visit fee and he said AC Drain is clogged. He said total charge including visit fee would be about $470 so I asked for discount and he did $330. I asked him is this normal rate or should I check with other business? He said this is normal rate and I trusted his words.

I agreed and he cleaned drain in 5-10 min max. He left and I called 2 other local businesses to ask about the rate for clogged AC drain cleaning service and I got 2 quotes of $99 and $125 (including visit fee and drain cleaning service fee). I was overcharged by more than $200. Do not trust them for the money, you will be cheated.

The technician who came out, Justin, was phenomenal. On time, friendly, and efficient describes this visit. He took the time to explain everything to me and couldn't have done anything more to leave me as a satisfied customer. Thank you! Service: A/C system maintenance

Had a new heat and AC unit installed in January/February. It was installed poorly, causing condensation to leak through my ceiling in August. Spent $400 just dehumidifying the room it affected (it felt like a swamp for multiple days) and will probably be a few hundred more to repaint the walls/ceiling. I brought it to their attention on the day I discovered the problem and have spoken with reception, a technician, and a supervisor and have heard nothing back since the supervisor visited my house in early October saying he'd try to rectify this.

I do NOT recommend this company. Initial service to HVAC unit cost over $700 and still the unit failed within days of resuming use. For the follow up visit, we were charged $900 for recharging the coolant, though the repairman contended there was a leak that he couldn't find and the unit would soon need replacing. They sat on that payment check for 189 days before cashing it unexpectedly!

No explanation. No courtesy call to discuss a delay, etc. Additionally, a second opinion by a reputable company on our HVAC unit (after the $900 visit) showed NO signs of a leak and they said there was NO coolant in the system! THEY added coolant AT NO CHARGE and the system has worked flawlessly ever since (over 6 mos. now). 72 Degrees has left me feeling that they are deceptive or incompetent or both.

I do not recommend this company. Service technician told me that coils are on their last leg and would need to be replaced at a cost of $3,000. And if I was going to spend that much, I should just get a whole new unit because it was on its way out as well. When I asked for a quote on a new unit, I was given estimate of $10,000 to $30,00. I felt that was rather excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion from an independent contractor.

This gentleman told me that he found nothing wrong with the coils, and nothing wrong with my unit that is only 7 years old. And IF the coils should need replacement, he would do it for $1,800. And a whole new unit is not needed. Be mindful of these bigger companies. They have huge overhead costs, and try to pass it along to the consumer by pushing new units with a big price tag. I felt they were trying to take advantage of me. Thankfully I didn't fall for it.

I would NOT recommend 72 Degrees to anyone. Their customer service and professionalism were incredibly disappointing. In May 2021, my third floor unit broke. They recommended replacement, which I trusted as their customer. It was completed the same week, which was great. However, their Accounting team took over a month to deposit my check. I called several times and got the same story that their check processing software was being updated, and that my check would be deposited in a couple days.

Over a month into that repetitive experience, it wasn't until I told them that I was going to stop payment on the check that they let me pay via credit card without an upcharge. It was incredibly frustrating. 72 Degrees made no attempt to problem solve with me so that I could put the project behind me. In July 2021, my second floor unit broke. Again, they recommended replacement.

I asked about repair options and I chose that route because they said it would be fixed by the following week, which was perfect because I was taking my family on vacation then. The repair didn't happen while we were gone. It wasn't until 3 weeks later that the parts came in and they fixed our unit. I completely understand that they can't do anything until they receive the parts, but they set my expectations at a 1 week turnaround. Meanwhile, my family of 5 was unable to sleep in their beds for 5 weeks during the hottest time of year.

To make things worse, I ran into the same check processing issue with their Accounting team again. I called several time, I was told I would be called back, but I was never called. It took 72 Degrees 5 weeks to process my check. It was incredibly unreasonable and managed unprofessionally.

Responded quickly to an emergency - came out the next morning and repaired within 30 minutes. The service professional (Alan V.) was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure the unit was working well before leaving. We had never done business with 72 Degrees before, but we are now on their maintenance plan and will be using them for all future services!
