From the first day we opened our doors for business, JD Vigil Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. was founded with the idea of putting our customers' needs first. We pride ourselves on providing the best products and service to our customers. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. Whether you're in need of a new system or a tune-up, our dedicated technicians are ready to help.
When it comes to air conditioning repairs, one thing rings true no matter what age, brand, or model of the system you have: there's never a convenient time to experience a breakdown. With temperatures outside rising, the last thing you want is to feel the uncomfortable heat indoors as well. Health risks such as respiratory distress from a sudden change in humidity and temperature. More costly repairs can be brought on by ignoring an AC unit that isn't performing properly - even leading to a complete system replacement.
If your air conditioning unit has decided to take the summer off - permanently - it can leave you in quite the uncomfortable conundrum. Don't let a failed cooling system stand in the way of keeping you cool this year; talk to our team today to see how our experts can help you find the perfect comfort solution for your needs this season.

Ben and Julian were terrific to work with while during installation. Kendra in the office was great as well! Overall the entire process was great. They replaced our water heater and furnace. We added an air conditioner and a house humidifier. Very pleased and incredibly thankful for the entire JD Vigil team. Service: Heating system installation

I replaced my entire HVAC system going with an AC/Heat pump and backup gas furnace with steam humidifier. It was done when parts were difficult to get. They upgraded some parts at no additional cost to resolve the potential delay. They then followed up and addressed a filter issue where I was having difficulty changing the filter and made it good. Thanks for the service

I have used JD Vigil 3 times now and every time the service was exceptional. My second visit, the guys did get the wrong part, but they went right back and brought the correct part for my furnace. From the office to the different guys that came out, my service was great. I have had a tune up and a repair. I also requested an estimate. I will use no other company. EVER.

The girls in the office, Jolina and Kendra are so sweet and knowledgeable. Gene and Bill are kind and courteous. They are respectful of my home and things. They even took the time to chat with my daughter about what they were doing! (She is 4 and got a kick out of the guy telling her about her heater)! I will be replacing my AC with them in 2 weeks.

Their prices were good but the staff is what really won me over. One other thing I was excited about.they have maintenance plans. So I can get my furnace serviced regularly for one price. It includes all kind of benefits for one price. It was a lot of info so I remember my regular tune ups and remember the guy saying if my furnace went out they would come out for no trip fee, but there was so much more!

We are from Virginia, a military family, and recently purchased a home in Colorado Springs. Just our luck the furnace starting giving us trouble. We called around to several companies, but JD Heating & Air Conditioning not only was quick to respond to our inquiry, they came out immediately. The technician Gene was amazing! Very professional and informative.

Gene explained everything to my husband from beginning to end. The problem was fixed and we believe Gene saved us thousands of dollars. Gene went straight to the problem, didn't try to sell a whole furnace like another company tried doing. We highly recommend this company. Sincerely, Sandra Woodard

The men who came to our house to replace our boiler were without a doubt some of the most courteous and professional that we have ever worked with. Their positive attitude and work ethic were without a doubt a pleasant surprise. We would highly recommend this company to anyone in Colorado Springs who needs any furnace work. We have dealt with a few different companies in the 47 years that we have lived here, and absolutely no one ever came close to the service we were provided. They provided all of the services possible to provide more heat in our home. Mike & & Linda Gerwatowski

Amazing company I had a 30 year old furnace that has been giving me problems for years. It broke down recently and I called them to figure out what was wrong. they informed me of the issues and what it would be to repair the system. They also gave me an option to even replace my system. The technician that came out was very informative and helpful. I highly recommend giving these guys a call!

Beware - "their word" means pretty close to nothing! Based on my interaction with this "J.D. Vigil Heating and AC" company - you may be wise to look elsewhere for your AC repairs or installs. They agreed to a new AC unit install with a more powerful 4-ton AC unit for $10,000.00 and said they could do it the next day. It was finally activated 9 days later because they would not complete the install unless I paid an additional $1,000.00 to get the electrical connected for the unit.

I went 6 days where they would not come and complete the install nor answer my phone calls or text because I found out, and inquired as to why, they were charging me about $1,500.00 more than others in town for the same exact unit ($2,500.00 with electrical working)., Evidently, they "did not know what was needed to install a 4 ton AC unit" and the installed price did not really mean installed unless I paid an additional $1,000.00 because of their error.

This is at best incompetence for an AC company not to know what is needed to install an AC unit and up the charge $1000.00 or refuse to finish the installation. The worse part of this is that they knew I had guest for 9 hot days without AC and they did not give a damn. While the actual people who installed the initial parts of the AC unit were very nice - the manager (minus the girl in the office - she was nice as well) was absolutely awful.

I was so disappointed with the attitude and unwillingness to even complete the install because because I questions his pricing. I had paid them after they told me it was finished. Yeah right - later I found out it was "finished" but did not work because there was no electricity to the unit. They had the nerve to say a non-working unit was finished and grabbed my $10,000.00 and never came back.

They also promised to adjust the air-flow zone system - but never did. I now need to do that by myself or hire a different company. Beware of these shady practices - "their word" means nothing!

Jeff, who says he is half owner in the company, and a Physician Assistant in the Army, did a thorough inspection of my HVAC system. He drilled a couple holes in the vent system then said I could buy some puddy to go around all the vent connections to prevent leakage. He never did patch/plug the two holes he made. He said my system was low on the outdated refrigerant, which could not be replaced.

The whole AC system was not working correctly. He said it was the basement cool air that was keeping the upstairs cool. He ran some test which required having the thermostat turned way down. He left it like that. I was wondering why the AC would not turn off. He showed his inspection sheets with all the calculations and said he could give me a military/senior big discount.he would replace the heating and AC systems for only $11,900.

I asked a Christian HVAC system repairman from High Altitude HVAC to give me a second opinion. The freon was fine. The system was old but serviceable. It did not need to be replaced, unless I wanted a more efficient system.which he didn't recommend. He said there were 3 HVAC companies that where bad.this was one of them. My neighbor, just paid $12k to replace his HVAC from one of the other ones.

Today June 18th 2021, I called for service had arranged a 4:30 appointment. I received a call during the day saying that I was booked for 4pm. I told the technician that wouldn't work I scheduled for 4:30 because that's what time I get home from work. He arrived around 5:30. I told him the fan wasn't working on the exterior unit it was probably a capacitor.

He checked it was the capacitor he replaced it took him about 20 minutes. So for a $15 capacitor I paid $475 worth it for 20 minutes worth of work I find this outrageous. When I call was not an emergency, nor after hours. Then I had to ask for my military discount. The technician was clean knowledgeable and friendly no issues with the service, just the ridiculous price of service.

I wish Yelp would add something lower than one star. This is the most unethical company I've ever made the mistake of inviting into my home. Please stay far away.

I have been trying to have my windows replaced after a Hail storm. At fist they were nice and worked with my insurance company to get the most they could. Once I signed a contract to get the work done everything went down hill. The windows were installed incorrectly 6 month's after the contract was signed. They had so many excuses they started to blame the manufacture.

When the windows were installed they were sticking out about 3/4 of inch with water coverage. During the installation the work team through trash all over the yard and one of my puppies went to pick up the garbage and started to choke. It took JD Vigil over 18 month's to finally install the windows properly and 2 of the windows have had leaks between the glass.

Its takes an addition 14 months so far to replace them. One was replaced but not the second. They make promises they cannot keep And the owner lies through his teeth I do not recommend this company for anything other than false promise sand the ability not complete anything and being lied too.

It can be confusing trying to get a read on the former JD Vigil Heating & Cooling and the current Happy Heating & Cooling since they seem to be one in the same, now or at least for some time. Best to check out both sites. "Happy Heating & Cooling is a dba company under JD Vigil Heating & A/C INC." Some Reviews seem similar. Your name/company name is your reputation, your Brand.

If you're staying in the same business, I'm wondering why you would change your name? It takes time to build a reputation, good or bad, and generally not something you're going to do if you've built a good business Brand! See some of Happy Heating & Cooling google reviews that he heads up. Reading Reviews from both of his company names might provide an expanded view of customer satisfaction.

I responded in the middle of Sept 2018 to one of the Happy Heating & Cooling mailers that stated I had a Rebate/Credit for $100.00 left from Service Engineering. In the last 8 yrs I had never had a company by that name in my home! The mailer indicated that this was for Both Heating AND Cooling! I asked Mr. JD Vigil about that while he was here because I thought it was for both but I did not have the mailer in front of me.

A couple of weeks later another, near identical duplicate, arrived which indicated only the Heating portion was included. He did not check the AC, even though the temps were still warm. I discovered that discrepancy after he departed and later compared it with the new mailer a couple weeks later. When he provided the Invoice it became apparent what the "$49.00 Special" was all about.

He was trying to up sell me $1574.00 worth of repairs, parts, etc that were NEEDED! But if I choose to take his "Maintenance Plan" that price would come down to $1338.00. But the Plan would cost $276.00 annually ($23.00 per month) making it go up to $1614.00! I note that other Reviewers did not seem to be impressed with his maintenance plan. He refused when I asked for a copy of the checklist.

When I reminded him that I had paid for it he was quick to inform me that no I did not! He later said he would email me a copy if I'd give him my email address, which I had previously declined to do. He did send it. Three weeks later my furnace went out! I called another company because Mr. JD Vigil did not garner my trust for what I've already written above and several other reasons. Yes, while it's hard to think that this happened just 3 wks later, I do know that things can happen. But, as I watched the new tech working and checking things he casually said that one or two things were loose at the electronics area and tightened them.

I never told him that someone had just been here recently checking the furnace out (the Happy Heating & Cooling sticker that Mr. JD Vigil insisted on was removed right after he left). Then literally a minute later he says, "I see what's wrong." The capacitor wasn't connected! He plugged it in and tightened it. Fixed. Now, the furnace worked fine before JD Vigil was here, during his visit, and after he was finished.

The weather was still warm when he was here and the furnace didn't go out until either the first or, no more than, the second time the furnace turned on after he was here. I'm not saying he loosely plugged the capacitor in to create this future fail. I'm just stating what happened 3 wks later on the first or second start-up. That breakdown cost me time and a $79.00 trip charge. I hope nothing else goes out any time soon! I would not have him nor his company back nor would I recommend them.

Really great service and work. I had a water disaster in my home that damaged my basement windows. We had another contractor who knew JD ("THE" JD) and called him to come take a look at our damage. JD personally came out within an hour of the call, re-set and caulked my windows. If I say how little he charged me for showing up at a stranger's house and doing two hours of work with a lot of sweat, he would probably go out of business, but let's just say the rate was extraordinarily compassionate! I couldn't believe someone would take the time and do that just because it was the right thing to do.

BLUF: I will never use JD Vigil again, nor will I ever blindly believe some contractor without properly vetting. That last one is my mistake. So last year in 2016, there was a huge hail storm that did some massive damage to my house. I began a claim prematurely after the first storm; again that is on me, but what I was told and what actually happened are not.

I started seeing all of these contractors troll the neighborhood for contracts. A second hailstorm came through and I was in a time crunch to get my house squared away and I bit. I had seen great reviews for JD Vigil. From 2013. What I was unaware of was the recent management change to Russ Nielsen and also a workers comp lawsuit from earlier in the year(2016).

So I invite them over for a consultation. I took the bait: hook, line, sinker. Justin Hecht(since "fired") tells me a tall tale. They'll be able to get my roof fixed up and they'll be able to take care of a bunch of supplemental work that was from hail damage the initial inspector hadn't even seen/documented. So I set up the entire thing, sign the papers, and hand over the insurance check.

A month and a half goes by. I now have a property manager for the house as I am about to be unable to be physically present. I have the property manager check on the status of the roof. JD Vigil informs them that they already put the roof on and installed it. This is 100% untrue. After more hounding, they inform us that Justin Hecht, who initially set up the contract, had been let go of due to his inability to follow through with clients.

Not improbable, irritating, but not the straw that broke the camel. I also get told that the roof will be done by the end of the week. This is after the first time they tell me the roof has been completed. End of week. No new roof. Another call: "roof and gutters were completed yesterday." False. The next day though, the tiles arrive and are on the front porch.

The roof, after almost 2 and a half months is "installed." I write it that way because over the last 6 months, the shingles have blown off twice and as far as I know to this date, the gutters were never actually replaced(they were being replaced because they were damaged according to insurance, but otherwise usable, so I will be unable to confirm until the work is done).

These are Class IV "hurricane" shingles that are supposed to withstand 120+ winds, or so I was told. Apparently Colorado has tornados that I have not heard about on the news. Since that roof work, over 6 months have passed. No additional work on the house has been completed, including work that was included in the initial claim. Read: it's been over 9 months and the first claim has still not been completed. Additionally, every call made to JD Vigil has come with another excuse as far as why nothing has been done.

There have been multiple fired employees in their estimation of the facts. Now we are apparently discussing matters with the mother and father of the owner of the company, but once again since that has occurred a month ago, no more work has been completed on the house(and the roof is still missing shingles, which may or may not have ever been replaced from the first time they were blown off after having been "installed.") If I ever made as many excuses at my job as this company did, I would go to prison.

It is offensive that so much effort has been put in on my end just to get them to do less than they are minimum requirement of having the job complete. I do not know who left that fake review for this company that said they were excellent, but let me be clear: do not use this company. I am writing this review after being fed lies for almost an entire year.

No contracting company should function in such a toxic way with so much misdirection. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I would like nothing better than to see my house fixed and at 100%. If this company could even do that, I would be stunned and retract when I say do not use them unless you want to throw away egregious sums of money and have your house left in complete disarray.

Terrible business. We scheduled an air conditioner tune up a week in advance. The day they were supposed to arrive between the block of time 8-12pm. They called at almost 12 to reschedule another full week out. The next week they did the exact same thing. They said it was due to AC emergencies. It was 75 degrees both days. Emergency what? People aren't dropping dead in Colorado Springs because their AC is not working. We were scheduled for these appointments. Took time out of 2 days to sit at home and wait and they never came. These kinds of companies should not be in business still.

We spoke to a representative of J D Vigil Home Services at the home show at the Palmer Park Event Center on the weekend of March 31, 2017. We needed some work done on a bay window and a replacement on a bedroom window. I expressed our frustration with other contractors we have dealt with over the years, and told them they better not get on my "list", somewhat joking!

We scheduled an appointment for 4/6/17. The two reps did arrive on time and looked at the work we needed done. One of the reps said he had to talk to " the old man" about the bay window and he was doing a quote in Parker so it would be Monday, 4/10/17 before we could get a quote. Again as they left, I told them they didn't want to get on my list and they assured me they would be on a good list! Well, today is 4/17/17 and we have heard nothing.nothing! I called the office today and the gentleman I spoke with knew nothing about it! I would give them negative stars if I could! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

I can't even rate this company with 1 star. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a company. They had my money for 4 months, to complete extensive work on my house. In that time frame they never once contacted me. I made repeated calls to get answers, with no return calls. When I finally got a hold of the owner, he only made excuses, never apologized.

After 4 months, they finally did the roofing. They left nails and debris in my driveway, gutters and yard. The decking should have been replaced, which they didn't do. The singles were nailed in incorrectly. Not on the nail line. Nail heads were left exposed and not sealed. This job would not pass inspection. I had to have another roofing company out to repair. I highly recommend not using this company.

Crooks! We had a monthly service with them where they would come out and "maintain" our heater and make sure there were no problems. They were supposed to come out monthly to replace our filters and maintain our furnace. Almost everytime they came out, they didn't have the filters. Also, they told us we need to start planning on replacing our furnace ($8,000 to $12,000) because it wont last through the winter.

We canceled the monthly service a long time ago, but our furnace stopped working recently. We had Home Heating Service, inc come out. They fixed the issue same day. When we asked if we will need a new furnace soon the tech laughed. He said no, its a Lennox those will last for a while. The issue we had was a cap on our roof that was destroyed by hail. DO NOT USE JD VIGIL. Unless you like paying for things you don't need.

Their technician, Chris, told me there was 'something' causing my circuit panel not to work and that he could replace it but that whatever it was would probably just happen again so I should just replace the furnace for between $3,000 and $4,000 even though it was only 12 years old (they normally last 15-20.) That didn't make sense because I had recently replaced the circuit panel, so I called another company (Family Heating and Cooling) and found out all I needed was a new thermostat for $180. Wow.

Just wow. The JDVigil/Wirenut technician did not even check my thermostat! (It's on the 3rd level of the house, he never went past the 2nd level or even asked where it was located.) Will not trust this company to do business again. There appears to be some kind of incentive for their technicians to sell furnaces; and whatever that incentive is, it is driving the wrong behaviors.

As usual the technician arrived in a timely manner, checked out both the furnace and air conditioner and cleaned them up. I appreciate that they always put the surgical booties on - our downstairs carpet is on the white side! The gal who does the scheduling is always a pleasure to deal with. We have had issues with our credit card being hacked and I always call her last because I know she will make me smile and simply change the information for me.

On the morning of Dec 7th, 2013 our home heater had stopped working. I called J D Vigil Heating & Air Conditioning for help and a technician named Ryan was sent. After diagnosing the furnace Ryan stated the problem was a bad Inducer motor and would cost $973.00 to repair. At this time he suggested we may want to consider replacing the furnace instead of spending almost $1000 on a 25 year old furnace.

We gave Ryan a check for $86.50 and he was going to get somebody from his office to give us an estimate Monday on replacing the furnace. At this time we had no heat and the outside temperature was in the single digits. The next day we told my oldest son who had returned from a business trip the evening of Dec 7th about our problem. By this time the temperature in the house was about 50 degrees.

He looked at the furnace and discovered the fresh air intake for the furnace was clogged with snow. After clearing the blockage and reassembling the furnace that Ryan had left disassembled the furnace was operational and has been operational since. Monday, Dec 9th my wife called Ryan and asked that the check she had given him be returned as he had misdiagnosed the problem and had done nothing but leave us without heat.

After Ryan never returned her call, my wife tried several times to call the business owner and again her calls were never returned. My son researched the cost of an Inducer motor and found prices from $40 to $150 for the motor itself. We feel because of our advanced age and the low temperatures we were taken advantage of. If our son had not looked into the problem when he did we would have been replacing our furnace on the recommendation of Ryan when the real problem was snow blocking the air intake.
