Hired City to clean my main sewer line in August and paid $800 for the service. Less than 4 months later my basement started flooding again and I had to call Roter Rooter who handled the job from INSIDE my home carrying bucket after bucket of water from my basement. Unlike the City technician who took the easy way out and cleared from the outside clean out, 125 ft away from my home. I paid 30% less with Roter Rooter and they gave me a 6 month gauantee vs City's 30 day guarantee.
In addition City advertises to be BBB accredited and their business is not recognized on the BBB website. I filed a complaint on the BBB website. I tried to speak with a business representative and they were rude and hung up the phone on me when I explained the situation. His exact words were. "do you think you are better than anyone else that you should deserve any kind of amends?" Interesting; this situation is not about ME, it's about City Plumbing - their incompetence, inflated pricing and poor business practices

If I could give no stars I would. Similar to Gaby's complaint which I wish I read sooner. $300 bucks and they toss the problem over the fence still not resolved. They come back and charge anther $750 for the same hour work. Should have solved it the first time and went to plan B if that didn't work. Saying it is the city's problem is not good business especially when it's not their problem. Slow down and do the job right the first time. Secondly a new charge for a job you did not successfully complete is insane but $750. If I wasn't in a bind definitely would have went elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and Forget they even exist

Fortunately, I will not be working with City plumbing again. Unfortunately, I was charged $300 for an issue that was not fixed by Al. I then spoke to the manager Kyle who suggested charging me another $300 for a "maybe" solution. Why would I spend $600 without a guarantee that the issue will be fixed? This company is not part of the accredited BBB which is lie #1 stated on their website. They also said they guarantee 100% customer satisfaction, lie #2.
I found other complaints similar to mine online. I truly recommend staying away from this company. If you can't get the job done, don't take the money! That's stealing! I will not be using this company in the future or recommending them to anyone. I'm highly disappointed. Please do not waste your time, effort and especially your money.

I will give them 2 stars for showing up the first time quickly and actually fixing the problem. But that's it. It was a glogged drain that needed a snake. They come completely unprepared and then make up some excuse about needing to drive all the way to Jersey City to pick something up, when its clear they are going to another job because you just heard them on the phone with that client. And they are expensive. In total the guy was there maybe an hour and charged $350.

We used this plumber in November and only now do I realize how much of a rip off they were. It was not an emergency call. It was scheduled by phone for a leaky tub faucet and a noisy toilet. They ended up replacing a washer on the faucet and the flapper in the toilet. The plumber was messy and needed me to find the manuals on both the tub and toilet. He made the repair. AND HE HANDED ME A BILL FOR $466.50.
For a washer and a flapper! I was stupid. I never thought to ask how much before he started. I couldn't imagine the issues costing an astronomical amount. They never warned me before they started work. I felt raped and pillaged when the guy left my house!
