Garnett Refrigeration was established in 1957 by John Garnett Jr. Mr. Garnett; a World War II veteran, created the firm in order to supply commercial refrigeration and heating service to Fredericksburg businesses and residences. At that time, central air conditioning systems in houses were very rare and the luxury of year round climate control was mostly reserved for downtown department stores and movie theaters.
