AC Installation
We install energy-efficient air conditioning systems tailored to Southern Illinois climate needs. Our experts help select appropriate SEER-rated units and ensure proper sizing for optimal performance. Services include ducted systems, ductless mini-splits, and whole-house fans. Professional installation reduces energy costs and improves indoor comfort for residential and commercial properties.
Geothermal Systems
Our geothermal system installations reduce energy bills by up to 40% while minimizing environmental impact. We design ground-source heat pump systems for new constructions and retrofits. Services include site assessment, loop system design, and integration with existing HVAC equipment. Geothermal systems provide both heating and cooling with consistent performance year-round.
Heat Pump Maintenance
Regular heat pump maintenance ensures peak efficiency and prevents costly repairs. Our technicians inspect refrigerant levels, electrical components, and airflow systems. Annual tune-ups extend equipment lifespan and maintain manufacturer warranties. We offer maintenance plans with priority service scheduling for residential and commercial clients in Jackson County.
Indoor Air Quality
We improve indoor air quality through advanced filtration systems, UV light purification, and humidity control solutions. Our technicians assess ventilation needs and install HEPA filters, energy recovery ventilators, and whole-house humidifiers. These services reduce allergens and create healthier living environments for homes in Southern Illinois.
Questions
What's the difference between an air conditioner and a heat pump?
Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by reversing refrigerant flow, while air conditioners only cool. Heat pumps work efficiently down to freezing temperatures but may require supplemental heating in extreme cold.
When should I service my HVAC equipment?
Schedule AC maintenance in spring and furnace tune-ups in fall. Regular maintenance prevents breakdowns, improves efficiency, and extends equipment lifespan for Carbondale's climate conditions.
How often should I replace air filters?
Replace 1-inch filters monthly and 4-inch media filters twice yearly. Clean filters improve air quality, reduce energy costs, and prevent system strain in Southern Illinois homes.
What are signs I need HVAC replacement?
Consider replacement if your system exceeds 15 years, requires frequent repairs, or shows declining efficiency. Newer models offer 40% energy savings and improved comfort features.
Do you service all HVAC brands?
We service all major brands including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, and American Standard. Our technicians have experience with both modern and legacy HVAC equipment in Carbondale homes.
What financing options are available?
We offer financing through Service Financing Company, LLC for qualifying customers. Options include low-interest plans for HVAC replacements and major repairs in Southern Illinois.

They installed my system new and have done any maintenance required. We have geothermal with in floor heat so system is a bit complex. I am very satisfied with design, installation service and maintenance. Just had a glitch in system they got it working spend the time to find the actual problem not just replace a bunch of parts. I am very satisfied and Jim is a great guy to deal with and very professional.

I'm a maintenance supervisor at a hotel. I have had Jacob's come out and do HVAC repairs at the hotel and I have always been very impressed with them. When I needed a new HVAC system installed at home, I did not hesitate to call. They did GREAT. Very timely, great communication, and they use top quality products. I recommend them to anyone that mentions HVAC repair.

Critical: Quality They broke my heater and charged me $160 for breaking my heater. I was told I had to replace the whole furnace and quoted $6000 for that. I hired another company and they fixed everything up for only $90. Do NOT hire them unless you want to break your heater! Service: Repair HVAC

Jackson of Jacobs Air Conditioning and Heating came to our home to do the annual Fall "check" of our HVAC system. Working both in the garage and in the house, he was very quiet as he progressed through his work during the hour or so that he was there. Not also during that time, he had another employee with him, on what assumed was a training mission. We were emailed a report very son after they left. It was, overall, a very good experience with Jacobs.
