South Hills Electric is a very competent group headed by Stephane Bertin. We had a problem with our HVAC ductwork. Some rooms were too cold, some - too hot. Stephane and his crew redesigned it, and now it works beautifully. They are also excellent electricians. The range of their capabilities never ends. They did a good job installing low voltage switches in our three-zone AC system, and they have also installed a 200 Amp Tesla charger. Competence and reliability are essential, but we appreciate Stephane's honesty the most.

There was once a problem with water damage caused by the supplementary bedroom AC system located in the attic. Somebody tilted a drip tray, and condensation water leaked through the ceiling. Besides Stephane's crew, there were also other people working there. Stephane could have easily blamed those people. But being honest, he admitted that it was his people's fault because he felt that it was his responsibility to make that tray rigid enough to withstand an accidental bump. Having such competent and reliable people in our home is a pleasure and an honor.

Been customer 6 years when South Hills Electric installed heating, ac unit. Started blowing fuses when tried using ac first time this summer. Made appointment for serve and tech Anthony came out and diagnosed problem after some testing parts on condenser. Turned out problem was wiring original installers took short cut splicing in old cloth sheathing wire from old unit with new wire during install. We were able to run new wire to condenser which took care of problem. Anthony was tremendous

My central ac unit shut off on fri evening. i tried several things to resolve the issue. since i dont know much about hvac i called in the professionals. Anthony was my tech. he was very polite, professional and prompt. He discovered my fuse box to my furnace wasnt properly wired. i was relieved it was a quick fix and he was able to get my unit working within a few minutes. i highly recommend this company, they are honest and reasonable with pricing. David and I needed work done and called South Hills heating and cooling, which had a service man, Anthony, who arrived a short time later, finishing 20 minutes later after installing a led light over kitchen sink. So impressed, we got an estimate for a new thermostat, furnace and air conditioner, we decided to have the job started 2 days later. Matt, Stephan, and Jacob showed up discovering a bad hot water tank which they included into an already big job.

Called to get some electrical issues fixed around the house. I asked if they have set prices for small work or if they do free estimates. The receptionist stated they do free estimates. After gathering information she stated there would be a $129.00 dollar fee just to diagnose the issue. The issue is electrical and that's why I made the call. Other companies do free estimates.

The furnace failed at one of my rental properties on a wintery Pittsburgh weekend - hours before a significant snow storm. South Hills Electric was responsive and effective in repairing the furnace and restoring the heat for my tenant within hours. Jake, the repair technician, was prompt, informative, and professional in his diagnosis and repair. I happily paid a reasonable emergency service fee for knowledgeable service to restore the heat to protect my tenant and my property. After years of using another company, South Hills Electric will be my go-to for HVAC.

I scheduled an appointment for South Hills Electric to troubleshoot why one of our breakers continued to be tripped. This had been an ongoing issue. Natalie (technician) was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She wore a mask (for COVID protection) and shoe covers while in the house. She asked several questions, considered a variety of factors, and then took action. She quickly fixed the issue (the solution was easier than I expected) and she also repaired one of our external outlets. It has been about a month and thankfully the issue has not returned. Highly recommend for professional service!

The technician was excellent. Professional, efficient, and thorough. The scheduling was quick and easy. Have to give this 2 stars because of the rates. $525 to install a junction box, wire, and a new outlet in an open space (no wire fishing) and less than 10' distance. I priced the cost of materials - less than $30. Yet they charged $150 for "installing" (no conduit or fishing required) 10ft of wire. $100 for installing a junction box, and $150 to install a surface mount receptacle.

All this on top of the $129 trip charge. This was a very simple job; less than 2 hours in and out. I expected to pay between $250 and $300. I was so shocked that I called to see if there was a mistake, they assured me that there were no mistakes. It is a shame because the service was great, but the prices for this simple work tell me I can't afford to go back to them for future or more complex jobs.

In fact, they came out and fixed the issue before other electricians had even called me back. They were thorough, friendly, and reasonably priced. I was a bit nervous to book with them due to some negative reviews on here, but they had a great deal on Angie's List for air duct cleaning. Scheduling the appointment was easy. They called before they came to do the service and were right on time. The technicians were extremely friendly and explained everything they were doing. I felt very comfortable having them in my home and they did a great job! The amount of dust/debris in my vents was crazy! I wouldn't hesitate to book future services with them!

Had both furnace and ac checked out. I have used South Hills Electric yearly and have never been disappointed. Service was excellent, as usual. You are kept up to date on the day of the visit. They have always on time except last week when they were early. We were asked if the earlier appointment was fine. The service manager explained whet he was doing and you can go to their site to review your maintenance records. Also the day before the appointment you are sent identification information of the service tech.

We recently purchased the house and South Hills Electric was the company that had installed the new boiler that came with the house. I was having some trouble with my a/c zones working properly. The technician came out and did a detailed check-up of the system. He worked diligently going through many diagnostic steps until he finally discovered the problem. Fortunately he was able resolve the problem right then and there. The system has been working superbly ever since.

I had a scheduled maintenance visit that uncovered a non-working humidifier. The technician attempted to turn it on he discovered a problem with the drainage pipe and told me how to fix it. The next day, I noticed a pool of water under the area where he was working. I called South Hills Electric and they immediately sprang into action to mediate the problem. They sent the technician back to my house within the hour and they even paid a dry cleaning bill for my soiled drapes!

I had an air conditioning checkup this summer and was impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the technician. He explained exactly what he was going to do and why before starting so that I could follow along as he worked. He checked the furnace and air conditioning units and identified a potential problem which could lead to major failures. These were corrected that day and the cost was reasonable. He even removed a dead mouse from my furnace area !!! I would recommend them easily.

The motor on my furnace stopped working last night during the cold snap and my house was losing heat really rapidly. Eric came out at 1:30 AM and got it running again until he could come back the next day and replace the motor. Even though he had been up all night on calls, he was super friendly and made a bad situation into a great customer service experience. He even told me that if the furnace shut down again before they could replace the motor, the company would provide me with space heaters. Cannot recommend this company highly enough!
